In AE,
For composting top layer, blend mode: :Linear Dodge (commonly used for compositing), or Screen mode
Change the top composite layer for 32 bit per channel, tick linear working space

Set the BG video in C4D with multi-pass workflow:
(Tutotial use Octane Render, I just use C4D default)
Octane camrea setting: tick Neutral Response, Gamma 2.2

Create a Camera in C4D (render the camera viewport)
Render setting: Format EXR, 32bit channel, tick enable, save beauty (as a reference image to compare to), show passes, multilayer file

In Main tab, choose Float (Linear) in Setting (I don’t find it, maybe coz did’t set Neutral Response on Octance Camera)

Export the image sequence

Back to AE, import the sequence, apply effect: EXtractoR, click on the effect menu, will pop up the window:

Create on 8bpc box again, change to 32 bit channel and linear working space
Duplicate several layers,
Repeat the same step but apply different ExractoR channels:

Except for Diffuse Direct layer and Beauty Reference layer, change the remained layer blend as Liner Dodge:

Put the beauty layer on top, tap on and off to compare if there is much difference of the combined multi-layers, with the beauty layer
