Connect your headset first THEN launch your project & steamvr otherwise it won't work
In a custom VR environment project of UE:
Turn on XR and Steam VR plugin
Delete Player Start in Otuliner
In Content → VR Template → Blueprints → VRPawn (a camera shape mesh)
Drag the Pawn in the scene (set the height as eye level)
Select the Pawn → Details → Autio Possess Player: Player 0 (to allow controllers and HMD usable)
select Quickly add to project icon → Volumes → NacMeshBoundsVolume

A volume box is created in scene, scale it up to cover the area where the VR evnironment wants to be covered (showed the floor becomes green)
Hit button P if don’t see the green area (the green air is for teleporting covered area)
Select Player mode as VR Preview


Remark: Definition of teleportation
1 : the act or process of moving an object or person by psychokinesis. 2 in fiction : instantaneous travel between two locations without crossing the intervening space.
