(Pt1) Intergrate UE5 into VFX and CG anim

Pt2 FBX export from UE to Maya (light,cam,anim)



Aim : Exporting animated meshes, cameras, and lights from Unreal to Maya. We will use this to perfectly match the light and shadows from Unreal in Maya.

Create a camera actor in a level sequence
R click on the camera actor in Sequencer, export

FBX export option, don’t change anything, click Export

Add necessary assets needed at the animted meshes:
In this case,
Add the ground actor , and the cars in sequencer, export same as the camera actor

Export the lights that is in the scene
In this case, it’s the directional sun light (the one turned off in Pt 1 tutorial)

Export the buildings that are casting the shadows (check which buildings have the effects on shadow by turning on and off of the vislbiltiy:

Import them in maya
Export Selection to .ASS (From Arnold)

Exported elements are:
360 HDRI Domelight
Directional light(s)
Cars
Camera
Building Geometry (for casting shadow)
Street/Plane
