Recruitment Referral Scheme

These pages reproduce internal policy documents, which may change from time to time and which apply to UK employees only.
Where there is a difference between these pages and the policy documents on Confluence, the policy documents shall prevail.
iwoca is a growing company and we are constantly on the lookout for new talent. When a new opportunity arises, we love nothing more than growing our teams through amazing referrals.
That’s why we have a referral scheme, which means iwoca will pay you a bonus for hired referrals:
Our bonus for a Referral is £1,000 (£250 for interns). A referral is when you actively leverage a relationship with a candidate to bring them into iwoca and they are hired as a result. You should be able to comment in some way as to the candidates professional abilities (even if it's through reputation alone). The key distinction is that the you will speak directly to the candidate about the role and about iwoca, and actively help to engage them in the recruitment process.
Our bonus for a Lead is £250 (£100 for interns). A Lead is when you provide a name and / or contact details to a Talent Partner, and ask them to reach out directly without your involvement and that person is hired. You should do this when you know of a candidate and their professional capacity but perhaps don’t have a personal relationship with them or do not feel comfortable getting in touch with them directly. The key distinction is that you do not actively engage the candidate in the recruitment process or contact them directly about the role.
Rather than taking home the referral bonus, you could direct the £1,000 bonus to a charity of your choice, which iwoca would then match (so you’ve got a nice big £2k charity donation made in your name).

Additional info:

1) The following are excluded from the referral reward programme:
People Partners & Recruitment / Talent Team
Team Leaders / Managers when the referral is hired onto their own team.
Freelancers, contractors or agency workers
3) Bonuses are subject to tax.
4) Bonus will be paid after 3 months of the referred hire being in our employment. The payment is made via payroll, unless you have opted to donate your bonus to charity.
5) If the person referred is already in the recruitment process or has been approached about the role by iwoca or one of our agencies in the past 60 days you are not eligible for a bonus, unfortunately. Referrals for ex-employees are also not eligible for a bonus.
