Week 7: February 23rd - February 27th

AT 219 Autonomous Aircraft Technology and Maintenance 2

In AT 219, we discussed two articles.
In the lab this week, we completed a mission dry run. Using the WR Ground Control, X-Plane 11, and FS - Flight Control, we simulated the experience of an ULTRA Flight. We started by creating a flight plan and then uploading it onto the simulators. We got efficient practice as the GCS operator and the safety pilot.

AT 319 Unmanned Aerial Systems Applications, Data, and Documentation

This week for AT 319, we did not have a lecture or a lab due to our professor being in Peru for research purposes. Instead, we continue completing tutorials for future practice and use. This week I completed four different tutorials. The first being detecting objects with Text SAM. The others were performing viewshed analysis with ArcGIS Pro, performing line of sight analysis, and classifying land cover to measure shrinking lakes.

AFT 361 Leading People and Effective Communication

This week for AFT 361, we only had one lecture. This lecture was dedicated to more informal briefings. There was a variety of topics briefed on, ranging from how muscles work to how to play water polo. In addition, I also began working on my advocacy paper, does the existence of nuclear weapons make the world a safer or more dangerous place?

AT 381 Aviation Security

This week for AT 381, we had three lectures. These lectures were about airport security basics, screening fundamentals, and screening methods. Some of our learning objectives were to evaluate key screening technologies, operational roles, explain the evolution of protocols in response to threats, and analyze the multi-layered screening process.

Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps

This week, for ROTC, we had our mandatory Physical Training sessions. One was focused on cardio, and the other was a full-body workout. At LLAB this week, my squadron completed multiple Group Leadership Projects (GLPs). GLPs are meant to test your leadership ability, followership skills, and debriefing techniques. In addition, I attended flight meetings, Supplemental Instruction, and staff meetings to adequately prepare for the upcoming week.

Teaching Assistant

This week for AT 265 Aircraft Electrical Systems, the class was introduced to alternators and generators. They were tasked with disassembling both, identifying three to five components, and then put it back together. As the TA, I was responsible for helping with any questions and asking them to identify certain components.
