Week 1: January 11th - January 17th

This was the first week of the spring 2026 semester at Purdue University. I am currently enrolled in 15 credits, while also participating in various extracurricular activities. This blog is dedicated to showcasing what I’ve learned and done during the first week of the semester.

AT 219 Autonomous Aircraft Technology and Maintenance 2

In my first week at AT 219, I attended two lectures. The first lecture was an introduction to the course, during which we reviewed the syllabus and established course expectations. The second lecture included a quiz on the following article:
In addition to the lecture, I attended my first week of labs for AT 219. Last semester in AT 209, the lab group and I worked on the assembly of the fixed-wing Believer sUAS. In our first lab in AT 219, we evaluated another group’s Believer blog assembly process as well as examined the sUAS. We documented what the group did well, what could be improved, identified issues that need to be resolved, and created a punch list of tasks that still need to be completed.

AT 319 Unmanned Aerial Systems Applications, Data, and Documentation

In AT 319, we had our first week of lecture. In our lecture, we went over the syllabus, the projects we would be working on throughout the semester, and expectations. In addition, we reviewed GIS fundamentals and then took a quiz on the lecture.

AFT 361 Leading People and Effective Communication

AFT 361 is a course dedicated to minor Aerospace Studies; furthermore, required Air Force Training courses. In AFT 361, we had two lectures. These lectures included an overview of the course, assignments, and briefings. In addition, we had a lecture on communication, more specifically, communication in the Air Force, and how to effectively use tools to elevate our communication skills.

AT 381 Aviation Security

For this course, we have three lectures a week. The first lecture was focused on the course and assignment overview. The second lecture was dedicated to working on our first group presentation, which is a security incident analysis of PSA Flight 1771. Our final lecture of the week was a brief introduction to the history of aviation security, incidents in the industry, and how it has and continues to evolve.

Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps

As an active cadet in Air Force ROTC, we have weekly dedicated Professional Military Events (PMT). Besides our required courses, we have two Physical Training (PT) sessions. These sessions are 50 minutes long and are to increase physical strength and endurance. On Thursdays, cadets have Leadership Laboratory (LLAB), where our military training occurs. It is an intense environment dedicated to learning, being challenged, being evaluated, and fine-tuning team and leadership abilities in high-stress situations.
In addition to our courses, PT, and LLAB, I am also a staff member. I am the Integration Officer, responsible for integrating various cadets into flights and squadrons. This week I had two meetings, devoted to discussing with the other staff members upcoming events. Finally, I created a standardization guide for my squadron, of 49 cadets, to provide rules, procedures, and structure to ensure consistency squadron-wide.

Teaching Assistant

I am a Teaching Assistant for AT 265 Aircraft Electrical Systems for the spring 2026 semester. Our first week of labs was dedicated to introductions to the course, students, instructors, and teaching assistants.

SALT

I am a member of the college ministry, SALT. This ministry is dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to college students and members in the Greater Lafayette area. On Thursday nights, students gather to worship and study the bible together.
