80% of students will score above 80% on the Analytical Approaches to Literature final exam (formally Literary Analysis)
Analytical Approaches to Literature Exam
In the Fall Term 1 2022, the average on the final exam was an 87% among 25 students. This was a marked improvement over the past average, which was 66.4%. This shows a good average for student’s comprehension of the material in analytical approaches to literature, a key class for achieving the above objective. 66.4% average in Spring Term 2 2021.
July 2023. In order for accuracy, we want to switch results to review the median instead of the average.

We also discussed moving away from using final exams as an assessment tool.

We are going to see if CGC can be used for both degrees, due to its overall helpfulness with assessment.

That students will score above national norms for Bible colleges on the ABHE Bible Knowledge Exam
ABHE Bible Knowledge Exam - Entrance and exist examinations
Eight seniors completed the exam in Spring 2023. Their performance by category is compared to other ABHE schools below. Institute students performed above the national average in 7/10 categories. In two of the categories where Institute students performed below the national average (Pauline Epistles and Revelation), they were within 1% of equally the national average
July 2023. Reviewed the results of the ABHE exam and have no issues with our results. However, there is some concern that the text does not best fit the type of biblical literacy promoted. We discussed implementing some of the terminology that we might not currently use in the classroom.

For example, we believe that some students might be very familiar with Philippians 2, along with the implications it has with Christ, yet not identify it as the passage on the kenosis.
