Hafsah M
Hey everyone! I’m Hafsah, a high school freshman from India. I joined Schoolhouse in November 2021 as a learner, and became a tutor a month later. I’ve since joined several volunteer teams here. I currently co-lead two volunteer teams - the community engagement team and the community moderation team. I’m also an editor for the blog team. I’m also a peer reviewer, and was a member of the india team. I’ve always been a passionate speaker and I have experience participating in speech and debate, as well as participating and chairing MUNs. I look forward to meeting y’all!
Rayyann A
Hello there. My name is Rayyann, and I’ve been tutoring online for the past 3 years. I joined Schoolhouse during the December SAT Bootcamp prep period, after an invitation to tutor for said SAT Bootcamps! Since then, my roles within the community has expanded to include being an Advanced Peer Reviewer, and being a member of the Community Engagement Team, the Policy & Moderation Team, the Welcoming Team, and the User Support Team! Speech & Debate in High School was one of my favourite activities, and I would count the days till every next event, so I’m extremely excited to see how all of you do! Have fun!
Temitayo J
Hello everyone! I’m Temitayo, a student from Nigeria. I joined Schoolhouse in October of last year. Since then, I have become a tutor, peer reviewer and writer on the blog team. I have experience coordinating and brainstorming in Debate Clubs and Speech writing. I’m enthusiastic about debate and creative speaking. I look forward to hearing you share your passions.
Grace C - Hi there! I’m Grace, a high school junior from Indiana. I’ve been at Schoolhouse since 2021 where I mostly tutor in math or biology. I’m also a peer reviewer and co-lead for the User Support Team. I have competed in both speech as well as debate from local to national tournaments and judged novice competitions before. I’m excited to hear the wonderful speeches you will deliver and enjoy our shared love for words together!
Sowmiya T - Greetings everybody! I’m Sowmiya, a university student from Singapore. I have been with Schoolhouse for a year and write for our blog! I also did peer reviewing for a few months. I was a debater in secondary school who participated in 8 tournaments and excel in public speaking. Looking forward to seeing your talent shine.
Sophie P - Hello! I’m Sophie, a high school senior from Massachusetts. I have been on Schoolhouse for almost a year, mostly tutoring computer science and SAT math. I am also a peer reviewer and a member of the Welcoming Team and the Community Moderation Team. I have been both competing and judging in speech and debate for the past 6 years, mostly in Lincoln-Douglas and impromptu. I will be headed to both Louisville and Phoenix for LD for nationals this year. Feel free to ask me more specific questions about my paradigm. I’m excited to watch your round!
Asher N - Hello there! I'm a sophomore in high school from Vietnam. I’ve been on SHW for a year involving with Tutor Operations and Welcoming team. I've been a competitor for over a year now. I’ve competed in Poetry Speaking, Program Oral Interp (POI), Policy and Parliamentary debate, and more. My paradigm will be focused on speaking skills, enunciations, speed, and discourse. Additionally, I always look for a great sense of humor and good sport. For debate, I will be a tabula rasa, whatever said but not refuted will go through, sometimes known as tech over truth. To win my vote, I look for clear articulation and signposting, I will be flowing, so dropping and adding arguments—not very ideal, also, I love off-time road maps :)). I really hope to judge your round, and good luck!!
Anisha G- Hello there! I am a junior in high school from Texas, go Astors! I have been on SHW for about 2 years and in the Welcoming Team and Peer Reviewing Team. I have debated for the past 6 years in all of the debate events. This year I went to state for Policy Debate (UIL) and went to state for World Schools Debate (TFA) and placed 17th in the state. I have consecutively placed at state for the past four years. Last year, I taught my team how to debate policy and LD which allowed us to go to state and taught the national Italian debate team WSD(World Schools Debate). Currently I am headed to nationals in Big Questions Debate in Arizona this year! I have a pretty extensive paradigm that I use when I judge debate for the middle school league, so feel free to ask me during the round. I am so excited to see y'all debate and good luck to all!
Ria D- Hello there! I am a junior in high school from Arizona. I have been on SHW for a few months, and I am currently hosting SAT boot-camps. I debated in PF for 2 years in the beginning of high school, and currently I am taking AP Seminar and leading a few honor societies at my high school. My paradigm will mostly be focused on speaking skills, including enunciation and speed. Looking forward to watching your round!
Saket P - Hello! I am Saket, a high school freshman in California. I have been on SHW since May 2022 and host computer science, business, and math sessions. I have done PF debate and impromptu speech for 2 years. I have in the school year done 7 tournaments ranging from national qualifiers to state and regional tournaments. I have placed top 3 and 10 on two of these tournaments. I have also done two speech and debate summer programs which have helped me diversify my debate skills in speaking and research as well as flowing. For speech events, I participated in online tournaments for impromptu speech this year.
Liel S -
Alice S - Hello! My name is Alice and I’m a junior in high school from New Jersey. I’ve been on SHW for about three weeks, but I really like it here! I’m currently hosting an SAT Reading and Writing Bootcamp. I’ve done policy debate for the past year, and I’m looking to get some experience judging here. I enjoy both recitation and public speaking, so I look forward to watching (and judging) your rounds!
Madison T - Hi everyone, I’m Madison! I’m a junior from Texas, and I love tutoring R&W Bootcamps here on Schoolhouse. I have been doing all sorts of public speaking throughout my life, from mock trial in 8th grade to Schoolhouse’s very own MUN just recently. My favorite public speaking outlet, though, is speech and debate. I live and breathe speech and debate, and currently compete in the homeschool league called STOA USA. This year, I’m qualified for nationals in three different limited prep speech events (including impromptu!) and Lincoln Douglas debate. I’ve also competed in platform and interp speeches in my few years in speech and debate, as well as Team Policy and American Parliamentary debate. When judging, I look for clarity and persuasiveness. Basically, show me that you understand and believe in what you argue for and/or speak about.
Madison V - Hi! My Name is Madison or Maddi and I’m currently a sophomore at an international online school. I’m on the Peer Review team as well as run high school level science and humanities related sessions at SHW. I've started with speech and debate in elementary school run honors program. From there I've built up my experience continuing with speech to middle school when I began debating competitions. I've been part of numerous debate tournaments. I also began running my own mock trial club in the summer of 7th grade. I began another mock trial team allowing up to qualify for the national tournament level that is still ongoing. I’ve learned alot from these experiences and I’m looking forward to putting forth my knowledge onto helping others. Do your best everyone!
Selen Melis B- Hi everyone! My name is Melis, and I’m a senior from Turkey. I’m an SAT Math and R&W tutor as well as Physics and Biology on SHW. My first introduction to speech and debate was in middle school with an international competition, where I managed to rank as the Best Student Overall and Best Debater. I fell in love with debating from that moment onward, and I’ve been debating ever since. I’m currently the elected captain of our school’s Speech and Debate Club, and I’m responsible for organizing competitions and judging. I look forward to meeting with you all, and sharing my knowledge!
