Week 7 Online GIS GCPs
Lab focused on planning and collecting ground control points (GCPs) using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Earth, then comparing the planned locations to the points recorded in the field. In ArcGIS Online, we created a hosted feature layer specifically for GCP collection so that each point could be stored with its location, basic attribute information, and attached field photos. After planning the GCP locations ahead of time, we used ArcGIS Earth in the field to record the actual point locations and evaluate how closely they matched the original plan, helping us assess both accuracy and overall workflow effectiveness.
