Potential Advantages
One Box Shipment
Shipping as a single box improves the customer experience.
Higher Reliability
Working with Fideltone is much easier than working with OKC. They are able to do expedited and 2 day shipping without having to pull orders out of the system.
Returns
Supplement returns already go to Fidelitone. If these returns do not have names on them, we can potentially resell them on the market. Or we can find a path to sell it if there are damaged box but the product is good
Step Towards Bottles
We will be making this transition when we move to bottles anyways so this transition will pull us one step ahead towards bottles
Potential Disadvantages
Lengthened Supply Chain
Because we now require OKC to print all of our products ahead of time and send them to Fidelitone that will increase supply chain leadtime from 18 weeks to potentially 22-24 weeks (assuming 3-4 week for large production, 1-2 weeks for shipping)
Assuming that OKC is able to do this, how much time would it take them to manufacture [count] of boxes for Fidelitone? Is OKC even able to ship via pallets? Do they have a dock for outbound shipping? Do space to prepare [count] boxes and wrap them ahead of a shipment? Are they willing to ship in pallets? Will they charge us more for preparing shipments in pallets? Increased Costs
Additional shipping cost from freight? Given size, my guess it will be about $10-20K each batch.
How much does it cost to send 4-6 full pallets from Reno to Tennessee? Product Stability
Because we are prepackaging product prior to shipping, the stability of our supplements will drop significantly. When they are in bulk, we have stability upwards of 24 months but when in sachets it is currently set to 3 months.
How do we ensure shelf stability of our final product? Option 1️⃣: Have Gemini or another company run final product stability on our final packaging. This will be accelerated stability testing, but I would like to have 2 years shelf stability which means we need 4 months accelerated stability. Option 2️⃣: We take the risk and put 2-year shelf stability without having done stability testing. Not recommended as we do not have any data on this. Increased Shipping Risk
Shipping any product between locations increases exposure to the elements - increased humidity and temperature. This can potentially reduce the efficacy of our products when shipping especially since there are no oxygen scavengers with our products when shipped as finished products.
