Portions were taken to them from Joseph’s table, but Benjamin’s portion was five times as much as any of theirs. And they drank and were merry with him.
Genesis 45:22
To each and all of them he gave a change of clothes, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver and five changes of clothes.
He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish.
and as soon as those bearing the ark had come as far as the Jordan, and the feet of the priests bearing the ark were dipped in the brink of the water (now the Jordan overflows all its banks throughout the time of harvest),
the waters coming down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far away, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan, and those flowing down toward the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. And the people passed over opposite Jericho.
Now the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firmly on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan, and all Israel was passing over on dry ground until all the nation finished passing over the Jordan.
I heard Yahweh say "Consecrate yourself for you are about to cross over the 'Greater Jordan."
Friends, at this moment you are standing before the Jordan. It seems as if a way has not been cleared to pass through. But the Lord is simply preparing you for the crossing over.
Once you crossover, you can never go back.
The events of Joshua 3 are a prophetic foreshadowing of what the body of Messiah will soon experience. For some, this is will once again require a "physical" crossing over. But even more than the physical, this crossing over is a matter of the heart.
The Father has set your "Promised Land" before you. You cannot take the old ways of doing things into the new land. The old broken identities you received from those who wounded you cannot come into the land. You must carry your "new weaponry" leaving the old behind. The old manner of "fishing" will not do. It is time to cast your nets on the "other side" of the boat.
And namely it is time to follow the "Greater Joshua" into the land for the Lord says,
"The crossing of the "greater Jordan" is at hand!"
Just as it was for the Israelites, so it must before you.
Joshua, which in Hebrew is pronounced "Yeshua" must become your leader. You must trust Yeshua to lead you across the river and into all the promises God has set before you. You must make the proper preparations before you are prepared to take this territory for the Lord.
The story of Benjamin gives us a clue as to how we must prepare for the journey. Joseph, Benjamin's full blooded brother is a picture of "Messiah Ben Joseph" the Suffering Servant who was exalted to the right hand of Pharoah. During the time of famine, Jospeh had an abundance. And when his 11 brothers came to see him and were given the opportunity to sit at his table, Benjamin's portion was "five times" as much as the brothers.
Five is the biblical number for "grace" and "revelation."
Benjamin was given "five times" more "grace" and "revelation" than his brothers!
After this, Benjamin was given "five" changes of clothes!
The Lord was showing special favor to Benjamin and giving him what was needed to equip him to fulfill his tribal destiny.
Beloved, the Lord is saying to you today, "Before you cross over, you must consecrate yourself through the blood of the "greater Joshua." In preparation for entering your Promised Land, receive "five times" the portion of my Spirit from my table. I give to you "five changes of clothes" as a prophetic declaration of my perfect provision for you."
Friends, the Father gave Benjamin "five times" what the other brothers received and he is giving you "five times" the provision today for you!
And the "five times" provision is "the fivefold" ministry!
You are destined to carry all five of these "provisions" into the land. You are an apostle, a prophet, an evangelist, a shepherd, and a teacher.
Yeshua possesses all five, and He lives inside of you. Therefore you possess all give! These are the provisions the Father is giving you before you crossover! Hallelujah!
Friend, your forty days of testing are coming to a close. It is time to take the five times portion and put on the new clothes. It is time to pack your bags with all five changes of clothes and get ready to move out! The crossing of the 'greater Jordan" is at hand!
The Scripture declares, "the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few." You have been chosen by the Father to participate in the final harvest in the earth. You are living through the transition from the church age to the Kingdom age.
You have been chosen as part of the "Benjamin Company" to lead this procession into the great Sanctuary which is to dwell fully in God and He in you.
When Yeshua went into the wilderness "led by the Spirit" he came out in the "power thereof." So it will be for you as well.
The forty days of testing are complete. Now you must receive the "five times" portion from the Lord. And make yourself ready for the journey ahead. Though it will be wrought with danger, you will see the Lord do wonders in your midst!
Get ready my friend, it is time to walk in oneness with the Father, as the very temple of God.
And take a step toward the Greater Jordan! For your time of "crossing over" has come!
Our Prayer
Father, we bless your name for you are a God who reveals mysteries! You are our Provider and we receive the five times portion and the give changes of clothes. We acknowledge these represent the five fold ministry we were destined to carry within us. Help us to learn how to walk in these precious gifts. May we be strengthened in these gifts that others might see the Presence of Yeshua within us. We confess we are anxious and fearful at the thought of "crossing over." We have felt a sense of the coming "change" for quite some time and we know you are saying it is now here. Let us not shrink back in fear, but rise up in the power of Yeshua and cross over! We trust the greater Joshua, Yeshua within us to lead us into the Promised Land. And may you grant us the provilege to see many of our brothers and sisters cross over with us as well. We love you Father, make us one with you. We will prepare to cross over. With you at our side. For the glory of Yeshua. Amen
A Word from Our Father
My child, you have come to a critical juncture in your walk with me. You are standing before the "Greater Jordan." This Jordan is a matter of the heart. I am calling you as I called Abraham and Sarah to leave behind all that is familiar and to journey into the land that I "will show you." I am prophetically declaring it is time to fish on "the other side" of the boat. I have set before you an "open door." And like the crossing of the Jordan in the time of Joshua, it requires you take a step into the water. I have given you five times the portion of your brothers and sisters. Not so you can boast but so that you might be led into greater measures of humility. For this is the key mark of those who will successfully crossover. The word "Hebrew" means "the ones who have crossed over." I declare this day, "You too are a Hebrew." You will successfully cross over from death to life. From the old wineskins into the new. You will put on new clothing, and walk into my Presence wearing the proper wedding garments. You have been chosen. So now, as you complete the fast, I give to you the fullness of the fivefold. May you carry this within you and ponder mover its meaning for the days and years to come. And watch as I part the river before you. It wont be long before you, like Joshua, begin to set up the "Memorial altar" on the other side of the Jordan as an eternal remembrance of my power and grace to bring miraculous deliverance! Stand up and take a step forward for the time to cross your Jordan has come! I have spoken.
Devotional Song
Friends, you’ve made it through the 40 days! The Father is smiling upon you! It is time to raise a victory shout for the Lord is so good! It is time to “Raise a Hallelujah!”
