"The Meaning of Life- The Number 42”

Daniel 7:25

He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, “Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there,

but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.

And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule

and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days.

But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.

And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.

I heard the Lord say, "You must learn the lessons of the 42 campsites of the Exodus Journey if you are to endure the 42 months of trial coming upon the earth."

Did you know that in the famous novel "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", a powerful super computer when asked the question, "What is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything" replied…. 42.

Friends, the Father is Creator of everything. He spoke the world into being through 22 Hebrew letters. Every letter and every number throughout the Scriptures and throughout creation is rich with meaning and intentionality.

The number 42 is evidence of this amazing truth.

Forty - Two expressed through the Hebrew letters is Mem(40) and Bet(2). Mem is a letter which represents the flow of water or a flow of time. Its likened unto the water bursting forth from the womb at the time of birth. Bet (2) means the building of a house…..or a Son.

So 42, Mem-Bet, would mean "this passage of time will bring forth a flow of water into the house of God. This water will burst forth into new life, a Son.

With this revelation in mind, do you see why God chose 42 campsites for the Israelites in there wanderings and not 41 or 43?

God's purpose was to take His people out of slavery in Egypt and into a "birth canal" whereby they would be prepared to inherit the Promised Land.

So then, the Lord required 42 stops in the wilderness to prepare them to become houses for the water of His Presence. 42 signifies the requirement of a wilderness journey to prepare Gods children to become temples for His very Spirit.

This number 42 shows up in both the Old and New Testaments.

In the book of Revelation, there is a reoccurring timeline which points to the number 42.

The phrase "Times, time, and half a time" equals 42 months. There is also mention of a time period of 1260 days. This also equals 42 months. As does 3 1/2 years.

The 42 months of the Book of Revelation point to the final 3 1/2 years of Tribulation marked by the rise of Antichrist. The reason this number is being highlighted by the Spirit to you is because…..

We are on the doorstep of these very events.

Friends, our Sovereign Father chose this time period of testing to equal 42 months in order to connect it to the 42 campsites of the Exodus journey. He did this for a very important reason.

You have spent much time in the wilderness.

You have been tested through many "campsites" and experiences in life which have shook you to your very core. You have experienced abundance and need. You’ve been to the depths of sorrow and you’ve stood on the mountaintops of joy.

Friend, it has been through your wilderness that the Father has prepared you to step into the Final 42 months! And you will inherit the Promised Land!

You are prepared for what's to come.

And during these 42 months, you will be revealed as an overcomer, and the very house of God's Presence, and you will lead many people into encounter with the Father.

So let the number 42 reveal to you your divine purpose, to be a House for the Spirit of God and He will guide you into the Promised Land!

Our Prayer

Father, we thank you for this revelation around the meaning of the number 42. 42 is in fact the answer to all of life's question. For this number represents your provision and protection over your people through their wilderness season. It is the reminder that we will inherit the Promised Land which is to be made fully into the image of Messiah. Even your Holy Name as written in the Talmud has 42 letters. Father, we bow our knee before you! You are the revealer of Great mysteries. Remove our fear of what's to come. Remind us that our past "wilderness wanderings" have prepared us for this moment in history. Use us as vessels through which the waters of your Spirit can flow into the earth. We give you control. Guide us through the coming 42 months. We cling to you and you alone. For the glory of Yeshua.

A Word from Our Father

My child, I am the Sovereign One over the Exodus of your heart. I have been with you through every temptation and trial in your life. Ive been there through your worst and best moments. I have never turned my back on you and I will not turn my back on you now. You are chosen and precious in my sight. You are a Last Days Israelite. Destined to become the very House (bet) for my Spirit (Mem). Antichrist will rise, but so too will thousands of little temples and you are one of them. And together, you will destroy the Antichrist and his armies through the power of Christ within you. Do not fear what you may suffer in the coming 42 months. Remember, the one who endures until the end will be saved. My child, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Listen to my voice, walk with me in holiness and faith and you will see wonders in the days to come. I am your Father. And I will give you the Land. Watch and see the salvation of the Lord! I have spoken.

As we meditate on the revelation of the number 42, may we worship the Lord and let Him fill us with the fullness of His Spirit! His desire is for intimacy with His children. Let us dance with Him through the trials of the day. Father we come now to enter your courts with praise!
