ReconAfrica

ReconAfrica (or Reconnaissance Energy Africa Limited) is a Canadian-registered junior oil and gas company currently exploring in what they call the “Kavango Basin” in Namibia. The Kavango Basin is a large unexplored oil formation spanning Namibia and Botswana. ReconAfrica has petroleum exploration licenses from the governments of Botswana and Namibia, covering a

total of 34,325 square kilometres (8.5 million acres)⁠

in northeast Namibia and northwest Botswana. They have drilled two exploratory wells and

in mid-April announced⁠

that they have confirmed a “working petroleum system”.
