UN and ECLAC
ECLAC, which is based in Santiago, Chile, is one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations. It was founded with the aim of contributing to the economic development of Latin America, coordinating actions to this end and strengthening economic ties between countries and with other nations of the world. The promotion of social development in the region was later included among its main objectives.
