What is Viper going to be in 1 year (the version the army wants)-
Viper will be a ~100k vertical takeoff cruise missile. It will burn a premix of diesel or gasoline to travel 180nm (for base army applications lab version) or 400 nm (once afterburner is integrated) to cary a 20b payload (either a hellfire munition or a custom one we are developing as an AAL option with 2 sub companies). It will target a specific GPS target after using thrust vectoring to take off vertically, cruising at ~450mph at ~30,000ft.
What will Viper be in 2+ years (the version we are internally building towards)-
Viper will be a generalized ~100lb fighter jet. Our manufacturing techniques are flexible enough to retool “viper” to fit a range of conops for a range of customers. We make everything out of carbon that we tool in house, with spars cut on in house flexible tools, and bonded/assembled in a largely automated fashion to facilitate rapid design changes. Our turn aruond time right now from new Viper release to first flight ready version is ~3 weeks. We will look to get that >1 week over the next 12 months.
