Georesearch Role Progress

My performance so far based on my JD
Innovator (Research & Development)
Developed the EHC using AI workflow and can promise around 70% with human check and it’s much better than our current threshold which only reaches 40 to 50% agreement with human checking.
Revisited the auto-disable GCP project and was able to uncover significant questions and optimization from the version 1 of this project
Optimizations
Using the dynamic radius threshold
Setting the minimum GCP required so we can automate more PPK/RTK surveys
Unexpected discoveries
The fixed 500m radius is not that bad and kinda optimal but the one thing that was not looked before is the minimum projection required for each GCP. Finding the right value for this parameter would automate a significant amount of automated GCPs.
Expert Consultant (Technical Support & Collaboration)
Was able to participate in multiple drone onboarding already (DJI M4E, Autel, Skydiox10, Wingtra MAP61 (first solo onboarding))
Created a DEM compare tool that streamlines our flight and processing settings checks
Suggested an optimization to include a Geosuper to improve drone onboarding process further
Developed the PPK compare tool proof of concept using AI and python scripts for specialists to test and later on to be developed by Team Capture
Delivers CRS request and projects on-time and creates tools using AI when necessary for the team
Learned the quirks of our CRS admin and handled regular CRS requests

US ft to Intl feet CRS conversions
Mentor & Educator (Knowledge Sharing)
Presented learnings and tutorial slides during DS Meetings
Discussed the PPK compare tool

Created how to docs for the DS team and specialists
Actively participates to our DS Seniors Weekly to assist team in helping geosupers with their escalations
The Project Lead (Execution & Communication)
Gives regular progress updates on my project assignment, makes sure that I prepare visuals every standup for everyone
Tries my best to meet expected progress every week
Accepts feedback and project suggestions from my teammates

Room for improvements in mind
Looking at the job description I still lack skill in the following areas:
The well roundedness expectation, I’m knowledgeable in Propeller photogrammetry but only knows super basic Lidar. I was not able to learn the Lidar workflow during GS days
I still struggle to be self-serving in terms of finding things in metabase using SQL
I still want to touch the project lead and mentor & educator skill expectations more as a Sr. Georesearcher. Here are my plans in the future to satisfy this:
Create a standardized and a documented Georesearch Team process during onboarding. Currently, I still find it a trial and error approach and see the issues as we go. I think I can improve this by laying out a standardized georesearch onboarding document to Tim and Iza.
Create a Georesearch Knowledge Base Doc in coda that contains our learnings from different projects such as:
Basic Github
Productive Sessions with AI
etc.

Questions:
Looking at our team’s description, seems like we are not touching the mentoring and educator part of the role, what should we do about this?
My thoughts is for us to have a coda that will contain our knowledge from our projects so far that anyone can read.
ai tutorial to everyone
So far, I find it very hard to explain my project updates at our standup meetings
I feel like the team just needs the TLDR version but we wont be able to brain storm properly if I leave the minor but important details for my weekly project updates.
Hopefully, we can have a chiller meeting with just the 3 or 4 of us where we can present our updates at a better pace where everyone can butt in, share screen, suggest and give 2 way feedback without the time pressure during our 1 hour standups with everyone.
Maybe make the standup with Paulina, Jye and others every 2 weeks then for the other 2 weeks of the month, a chiller project presentation meeting with just us georesearch team.
Alternatively, maintain the same schedule but we can add an every 2 week meetin in our scheds that would be focused on project presentation/brain storming
I want this because it will help use progress with our own projects as a team not just individually.
An example is the EHC using AI, me and Tim had to do a separate ~2hour long meeting because apparently, my standup updates were not enough for him to see the actual workflow behind it.
And it’s the same for me, I don’t grasp the handheld scanning that much because everything gets blackboxed during standups since Tim is probably pressured too to just give everyone the main gist of his updates.
