Overview
Academics and researchers are considered the thought leaders in the international development space. In the context of KDLT, an academic is typically working out of a university while a researcher may be employed by a think tank or other organization to conduct research. They are consulted by other audiences on development topics but tend to be more silo’d in their work than other groups. Due to the dense academic nature of the research they produce, it is often not practical for development practitioners to utilize on projects.
