Students' reactions: Semester 2

28th February 2025

Productive class today. It inspired me for the journey ahead that is the teaching sessions. I’m just very excited about teaching and learning from the experiences to come.
The keywords exercise was really interesting. I think we need to discuss a bit more about how to handle teaching as individuals rather than teaching as groups and go through personal emotions along the process.
This class was quite interesting and helpful. I learned a lot about the reading process which will help me in the near future while teaching. Thank you professor for the tips about teaching and planning lessons!
I don’t think we need the human noticing. We already have enough work to do, and there are plenty of reflections to complete, but either way we still end up with low scores.
Honestly it is a lot of work throughout the whole module and the results are disappointing, at least for me. Today’s session was fine, not much stood out for me.
1. Thank you for giving us further information on the activities we need to do for the PP2 course. 2. Kinda excited for the human mentoring program. 3. Overly good class, did not lose concentration.
I love that you mentioned the medals again at the beginning of the class. Group discussions were fun and the atmosphere for openly sharing your thought was great. I love that you respect creativity.
Great class today. :)
I really liked the way we approached lesson planning today. Whenever I thought of lesson planning I always imagined big and extremely detailed tables with numerous columns. But now it seems less intimidating.
I fear that the lesson plan that we need to add to the portfolio is a bit too much :/
Great discussion, I was a little sleepy to engage. But great activities.
The last part was very productive, where we talked about the reading skill (the manga thing). Even though the medal thing was from last Friday, I think it brought a smile on our faces.
This class made me reevaluate my teaching planning. I should start writing things down. Also, reading can be taught in different ways, I haven’t thought of that.
I loved our discussion on lesson planning and the options of lesson planning, and that not everything can go as you plan, but the most important thing is to know how to adjust.
I’m ready for a fresh start in our new journey! Especially after the positive results from the previous semester (I’m not talking about the exam results). Овој семестар не јадам хамбургер од 7ца зошто сум на диета (а и поскапен е). :) <3
Learned a few new ideas and methods when making a lesson plan. Very productive and organised lesson, time flew by
Today we had a great session and learned new stuff from our diverse experiences.

Overall, I enjoyed our classes today. I’m glad that you made a research and we were able to see data and facts.
Really helpful class.
We are heard but we aren’t understood (the first discussion). It is not the matter of choosing. WE HAVE LIVES!
Today’s class was really interesting. I really enjoyed how interactive it was.
It was good to see a lesson plan from our colleagues in action, you get more ideas and you can see what you are doing right or wrong with your lesson plans.
Great class. Love you. ИДАМ ДА ПИЈАМ КАФЕ ЕЕЕЕЕ
I’m making so many sacrifices for this class. Sometimes it’s exhausting and I get frustrated.
I liked the discussion about our reactions on the module.
I adore when we do role-play, because I like acting out. I also enjoyed the statistics and the discussion we had in that part.
I was a little bit disappointed from the teaching class. I felt like nobody was interested from the students. Regarding our discussion of the themes, I don’t agree with some of my colleagues that the workload is too overwhelming. Time management is crucial for an adult and there is time for everything.
Well-planned class. Learned a lot about the process of teaching through examples.
I’m glad we had open discussions about some of the concerns the students had regarding the module. I think sometimes we have to prioritize things in life that are important to us and this is the same case as well. Otherwise, it was a class filled with productivity.
Okay class, not interesting, not boring. Human mentoring and Noa? Don’t you think it’s too much? We have 6 other modules and a life. Too much out of class activities for a shared module, honestly speaking.
What I loved is Kostanca’s speech about our futures. Something that was needed to be said
Today was tiring!!!
The session was great today. It was dynamic and fun. Also, our colleagues did a great job in the micro-teaching.
I really appreciate how ambitious our professor is. And I as an individual am ambitious too. But because of the lack of ambitious work by the teachers in the past, I don’t think that sometimes I can finish everything on time.
Today’s class was very interesting :)
It was a very informative session!
It was a good class, but I wish we had eliminated either the human mentoring or Noa to make it easier for us. I agree it should be optional.
This class made me realise that incorporating things that I am passionate about in the lesson will make me more motivated and a better teacher.
Class was alright. I believe that the ability to exchange thoughts and give feedback to our colleagues regarding teaching, teaching styles, etc. is excellent.
Productive lesson, great topics to discuss for the next session :)
I really liked today’s session. I am feeling that this semester will be different for me with much more experience.

14th March 2025

I like these activities outside of the classroom
More classes in nature :)
More classes outside, please!
Not a bad class. A bit confusing. Could be better, but oh well.
It’s great that we had the opportunity to give our colleagues feedback. I like that you are encouraging us to think outside of the box.
Today’s session was very mild. I think that a lot of the things that were discussed were pointless. Also, it would be nice some of the colleagues should learn how to accept constructive criticism.
The class today was OK, sad ču da pijem kaficu u Vranju. ;) As a teacher, I started getting some compliments about the way I teach, and I believe that it is thanks to you <3
I really cannot understand why everyone wants to do outdoor activities so much
Good class. The discussions were okay. Liked the talk about the tattoos and piercings, something that needed to be discussed. My colleague didn’t have a piece of paper, but he agrees with what I said.
I was surprised by how badly our fellow student Ana handled the criticism. Our discussions were useful especially the one about styles. I love your energy dear professor. Kind of a long reflection but nvm <3
I think we should have longer breaks about 20 min. at least!
I really liked the outside class because I got motivated :)
We need more time in class to discuss what we do in school and how we teach, also the relationship with our mentors
I would appreciate more movement next time. Maybe some quiet individual work instead of discussions for the entire class.
I liked the discussion about our own personal expression.
We had some great discussions in today’s class. I enjoyed getting the chance to go outside to plan our lesson on the manga follow-up.
Our discussions were helpful and it was surprising to see how many of my colleagues can’t accept criticism. After all, we’re all here to learn and grow! :)
I love classes outside in the sun.

I had a really enjoyable class today! I don’t understand how some colleagues have the energy to use ChatGPT to talk to Noa. Just be yourself! :)
This was the most interesting class I ever had. I felt really relaxed, the learning environment was inspiring.
Thank you so much for this class. We did a lot of things and I appreciated seeing how I might handle similar situations like these in class. (Like the use of AI)
I loved how creative the students were. I love you <3
Honestly, today was such an important class. The discussion at the end is one that every one of us should be aware of as a future teacher or just generally as a person in society. I’m glad we addressed and got a chance to write messages about the recent unfortunate tragedies in our country [see image below]. Lastly, lovely idea to create a poster for Elma and her little one!
I love when we have an honest talk about things that are important for this module.
I always have anxiety in this class. It was tiring.
Great session today! I really liked the beginning of the class when we shared our own ways and methods of coping with grief. It is very important to address those feelings, especially now.
I got the impression that I wouldn’t pass this module without the reflections with Noa, hence using ChatGPT with him and giving him brief answers. I still don’t like Noa and don’t know what’s the point of him other than wasting my time (which I don’t have), but I will try giving it a chance, as you have given me a chance. I will try to do better.
Even though I know that I write my own reflections and everything, I always feel attacked as if I use ChatGPT. Probably the fear of having AI language myself. I liked our discussions on previous reflections and just a reminder to my colleagues talk to the person you are writing about, don’t be anonymous, be BOLD.
Fun class. Especially the part with Ilinka and Evgenija. They were great! <3
I think Evgenija and Ilinka did a really good job presenting their lesson and how they motivated us to think in a creative way.

4th April 2025

I am glad we got to sit through Alice’s presentation; very insigthful, very well-structured, learned a lot of new theories about different dialects and how to learn about them
Seeing Ilinka and Evgenija willing to reply to all the questions and doubts written on the review letters explains how hard-working they are. 10 out of 10, packed with useful insights
I really enjoyed Alice’s presentation on accents, and her focus on the listener. As a student teacher, I have encountered situations where I couldn’t understand what my student said, or wanted to say. So, I found her research quite useful!
The conference: I remember that somebody told me about Alice and what her presentation is going to be about. This was a while back, and I felt excited to listen to what she has to say. Indeed, I did enjoy her presentation and I appreciated Gordana’s question at the end. I’m glad that we have such conferences at out faculty. It was very uplifting. Prof. Anastazija was and is a great Phonetics and Phonology professor, and Alice (her BFF) motivated me. Reflection on the class: I hate classes like these, bcs my colleagues are not serious and lack management skills in such occasions. But we survived, it was OK...
I really liked the topic at the conference, it reminded me of a series, Gilmore Girls, specifically the character Michel. The class was :)! To my surprise, my colleagues really liked our previous class about Manga.
Alice’s presentation was amazing! It’s a pity we didn’t stay for the rest of it!
The conference was really interesting but too early. It was cool to hear about the challenges the professor had in France. However, I think it takes precious time we have from our main course where we have a lot of work to do and discussion.
The conference was really marvelous and very insightful. Truly amazing professor Alice did a nice job at explaining about accents. And such a positive person. Great class! We all worked pretty well together!
I liked the discussion, i.e. the reflection of the manga class. All the students contributed with their responses. I liked the conference. It is really interesting and exhausting at the same time to deconstruct the native.
The conference was quite interesting and useful. I wish the university held more conferences like this, and let students participate in the same. The class was productive and interesting. We finished the tasks together given by the teacher.
I really enjoyed the conference, especially Alice’s part.
I thought that professor Henderson’s presentation was very insightful and the implications are beneficial for us as future teachers and ‘listeners’.
It was relieving to hear that even the ‘most professional’ lecturers can sometimes find themselves in hard situations, e.g. not understanding the person they are communicating with. It was nice to be a teacher and a student at the same time.
About the conference: Really good experience for me, it’s great to hear some new ideas on interesting topics. I simply love to hear foreign professors speaking English. About the class: I’m surprised how we collaborate as a class (positively). I think we did our job great. :)

25th April 2025

The second part of the lesson with the guest was really insightful and made me rethink the opinions I have about the topic. A lot of things to think about. Thank you Elena for always being kind to us and understanding. <3
I loved that we got to play the role of scientists with the cards. It was fun to hear about actual statistics as well.
I liked the discussions about parents, SEN [special educational needs] and the one with the psychologist.
Lovely discussion today! I am grateful that we had a guest today; it was really inspiring. What I also liked was the music at the beginning of the session. We should do that more often! <3
The role of scientists with the cards is out of our field, most of the voting was influenced by the others’ cards that were raised
I quite enjoyed the topics that we discussed today. It was very enlightening and I felt that all colleagues felt included. This made me happy.
I really enjoyed our guest today and motivated me to think about lots of things. :) Great class!
I really really enjoy topics related to psychology. And our discussions inspired me a lot.
Since we were on the topic of series, I hope everyone has watched “13 Reasons Why” because sometimes this faculty is my 13th reason. JK, I’m fine
I loved our class today. The discussion we led with our guest speaker was an eye-opening one and a much needed reflection in the context of the world we live in today.
We should go outside more because the weather got better.
I liked our guest and the suggestions my colleagues had. The warm-up activity was awesome.
Very nice and insightful talk w/ Biljana, thanks for bringing her! <3
Really interesting class. I really liked the topic we discussed.
It was good to be back. The guest was amazing, loved her. Thank you for the lovely poster.
I loved the opening activity with the music. (I heard Bowie and Kate Bush, would love more of that.) The guest presentation was so informative and engaging; good to hear someone talk about topics like this.
Let’s reschedule next class :) Update: Thanks!

5th May 2025

Today we travelled a lot. :) I liked that we got to be in the Aula.
I got a little bit confused at the beginning due to the lesson plan exercise, thus we wrote this three weeks ago.
I liked talking about last class’ topics and connecting them to teaching.
I will be definitely reading more about Jonathan Haidt! The film The Wave sounded really interesting, I might watch it. Bojan’s experience really was an eye-opener for me. Perhaps a final paper on how SEN kids learn might be interesting.
Quite a dynamic class today. We managed to cover many different topics which kept the class fun and engaging. I also wanted to thank you professor Elena for allowing me to share some details about my observations of the SEN students. I hope what I shared allows for a new learning opportunity for us all as future teachers as I think it’s crucial to be ready to support SEN students in the classroom as well.
The collaborative lesson planning was fun. I guess nothing else stood out for me particularly.
I liked that we had time to reflect on something we already worked on before, it was helpful. I liked the discussions in groups about the points from last class with the guest prof. Biljana. The Stanford experiment pitched my interest.
Changing classrooms broke the usual monotony. I like we had the opportunity to research the names we mentioned in our previous class. I like Bojan’s passion.
What I learned today: working with SEN students (thanks Bojan), how to use Noa better, I love my colleagues and working with them.
Enjoyed doing a lesson plan on Noa in class because we could directly ask you q. It is easier to do it at home now
I liked Bojan’s presentation about the SEN. We as teachers need to be prepared for everything.
I liked that we revisited our collaborated lesson plans. It just goes to show that we can always do things differently in the classroom and there is no such thing as the ‘perfect’ lesson plan.
I love the group chat on Noa. It was interesting to hear lots of opinions.
The second session helped me improve my future interactions with Noa. I’m starting to love it even more! I also loved Bojan’s talk; it was really insightful.
I think we need to go outside more if the weather allows it.
I enjoyed working with my friend and colleague in Noticing. I liked thinking about social factors in learning. It was nice to leave the classroom (sitting for a long time kills my back). I enjoy that our classes are demanding and engage me.
Today’s class was fun and informative. I liked what Bojan shared with us. :) The Stanford prison experiment was also very interesting.
I usually don’t enjoy these classes, but this one was very lovely and interesting. Can’t wait to watch the documentary about the Stanford prison experiment.
I’ve learned a lot about The Wave and Stanford prison experiment and how they are connected to learning.
The session with Noa was okay. I’ve done several lesson plans by now so I’m familiar with it. Regarding the psychologists we discussed, they were interesting but I don’t see all of their theories being applied in education. I felt we were learning things over and over again. Also maybe it’s just Monday <3.
I’m grateful that we revised about lesson planning.

9th May 2025

Interesting conference lesson. Proud of myself for the knowledge that I gained through years in uni: AI literacy, prompting AI to be more rational, caring (at uni). Always love to hear professors from different countries and their beautiful pronunciation and eloquence.
It was a very interesting and eye-opening presentation. I really like the idea of prompt engineering because of the fact that it enables teachers to use AI while keeping or preserving their integrity. The section about making AI take on the appropriate role makes so much sense if we want it to do the tasks for us successfully.
In order to use these AI tools effectively, we need to give them a good prompt. The presentation was very educational and interesting! :)
I’ve noticed/tested ChatGPT that it gives better responses when we instruct it well. “Prompt engeneering” :)
Really interesting two classes. I really enjoyed the conference and it was something different from our previous classes. It was definitely useful for us and fun at the same time.
I liked the presentation. I think that this is useful for us as future teachers.
This was a very insightful presentation that broadened my horizons and motivated me to engage more with AI. I will def. try out some of the suggested prompts.
Despite the focus on how to interact with technology, we have more important competences in our classroom. I liked this sentence so much.
