By the end of this academic year, we hope to:
· Learn how to teach all ages, young learners, teens and adults
· Share experiences, in class and through presentations (e.g. on online platform)
· Learn about current trends in teaching
· Learn about what ‘modern’ learners are like, e.g. what makes them tick
· Learn when and how we can use different teaching styles, e.g. autocratic and democratic
· Develop our identity as teachers, i.e. understand who we are as teachers
· Develop empathy for our learners
· Learn how to communicate well with learners and their parents
· Develop an awareness of when and how to teach stuff
· Learn how to gamify lessons, e.g. through game theory
· Have opportunities to think outside of the box
· Learn about learners with special educational needs (SEN)
· Develop confidence to teach English
· Reduce teaching anxiety
· Self-assess
· Learn how to manage the classroom
· Notice learner feedback (read the room), while keeping an open mind about it
