AirBnB guide

Learn how to set up and use AirBnB.

Step 1. Request Co-host Access from Host

Connect with Host: Before you can be added as a co-host, you'll need to have a conversation with an AirBnB host. You can connect with someone you know or use social networks and forums to find hosts looking for co-hosts.
Request Co-hosting Access: Once you have connected with a host, they will need to send you an invitation to become a co-host. They can do this from their AirBnB dashboard by selecting "Manage Listing," choosing "Co-hosts," and then "Invite a co-host."

Step 2. Familiarize Yourself with the AirBnB Co-hosting Platform

Review Co-hosting Responsibilities: Understand what responsibilities you can take on, such as managing bookings, communicating with guests, cleaning, and more.
Navigate the Dashboard: Spend time exploring the AirBnB co-host dashboard. Familiarize yourself with the different sections like bookings, messages, and reviews.
Understand AirBnB Policies: Learn about AirBnB’s policies, including cancellation policies, house rules, and safety guidelines.

Step 3. Equip Yourself with Communication Tools

AirBnB Messaging: This is your primary tool for communicating with guests. Ensure notifications are on so you can respond promptly.
Optional Tools: Consider using a shared Google Calendar for managing bookings or cleaning schedules. Tools like WhatsApp or Slack can be used for quicker communication with the host you're assisting.

Step 4: Communication Tips with Guests

Be Responsive and Courteous: Always reply promptly to inquiries and requests from guests. Being friendly and helpful builds a positive experience.
Provide Clear Information: Ensure guests have all the information they need about the property and their stay, including check-in instructions and local recommendations.
Handle Issues Professionally: If problems arise, address them calmly and efficiently. Offer solutions and maintain a professional demeanor.

Additional Tips

Stay Updated: Keep an eye on AirBnB updates and best practices in hospitality.
Ask for Reviews: Encourage guests to leave a review after their stay, as positive reviews can boost the host’s and your credibility.
Network with Other Co-hosts: Join forums and groups for AirBnB hosts and co-hosts to exchange tips, experiences, and advice.
Download the App: This is important so that you receive notifications from the platform in case you need to respond to guests when away from a computer.
