Lesson Goals
Lesson Duration: 20-35 mins
Part 1 - Time Mapping
Goals
Gain insight into where you spend your time each day so you can make better scheduling and time management decisions in alignment with your priorities and goals
Instructions:
Look at your calendar the past couple weeks to understand how you are spending your time.
Are the priority activities you listed from the previous lesson showing up?
Have you spent time working on what you do best?
Look for opportunities to increase time spent on impactful work and lessen busywork.
Duration: 10-15 minutes
cut the first 60 seconds.. no need. doesnt add anything.. TRIM The FAT - if we keep this lesson / step at all.
I believe the flow from pareto and Zone of genius right into Ideal Week is a more direct, powerful flow, which would eliminate this lesson.. I’d use this as a bonus lesson.
The questions for us to answer:
Is a calendar reflection required to shift 5 hours? Do you need to know the time saving tactics ( delegate, defer, eliminate, timebound, etc.) to shift the 5 hours? Do you need to know the Zone of genius framework, and how to categorize your time by it to shift the 5 hours? Feels like a lot of nice to haves to me.. I guess customer testing is the best way to learn more here..
List out the activities below.

Additional thoughts besides comments - this is ALOT of data.. both overall to input as well as to view and make sense of .. having buckets / pillars to group by would help.. which I guess we get to in the next aprt with the ZOG framework. Wonder how we can simplify this down even more.. This took me probably 15 focused minutes to type out and I know how to do this fast compared to average user.
(Note - if your calendar doesn’t accurately reflect your past two weeks, do your best to work from memory.)
Part 2 - Time Categorization
Goals
Time: 15-20 minutes
Video
Framework
Activity
Categorize the activities you've listed in the last step using Gay Hendricks' Zones: Zone of Genius, Zone of Excellence, Zone of Competence, Zone of Incompetence. Jot down any notes or thoughts that come to mind as you categorize each activity Additional Questions to consider.. is it a priority based on your priority activities and ZOG? is it something you MUST do, such as a job responsibility that you’re required to do AND that only you can do. Sort of cool to see the percentage of activities that meet priority definition ( 27%) and require (18%) Part 3 - Time Recovery
Goals
Duration: 5-10 minutes
Activity
Using the zone of Genius Framework, Which activities can you lessen, delegate, or eliminate to recover at least 5 hours per week using the zone of Genius Framework?
Mark them in the table below with the checkbox and note how much time you could potentially save each week.
Tactics
Not sure about direction of this “DOMAINS” table.. might of been something goood here intentionwise?? I copied my previous table from above to do the time saving exercise.
