Beyond Basic Analytics: Using AI and Data Science to Unlock Deeper Learning Insights in Schools
The morning keynote explores how schools can move beyond traditional data collection to develop richer insights about student learning using AI and innovative data science approaches. Drawing from real-world examples and case studies, I will demonstrate how schools can:
Build a more comprehensive picture of student learning by combining traditional academic metrics with data on learning behaviours, motivation, and metacognition.
Use AI and data science techniques to identify meaningful patterns in existing school data without creating additional workload.

Data That Drives Action
Data is ubiquitous, but are we fully utilising its potential? This workshop is for education & data professionals who want to move beyond basic reporting and start leveraging data for real impact. Join us as we break down a multi-year journey from scattered data points to a powerful, insight-driven platform. We’ll explore how smart data systems and strong data culture can transform everything from student tracking to academic interventions, class placements, and strategic decision-making. Expect to dive into:
Cutting through the noise: How to extract meaningful insights from overwhelming data sets
Designing dashboards that actually help (not just look impressive)

Leveraging Data: Whole-School Systems and Practices for Personalized Learning
This session highlights the journey of Chinese International School in implementing data-informed personalized learning — a priority every school is now grappling with in some form. At CIS, learning paths are bespoke and grounded in empirical insights into each student’s interests, preferences, progress, and well-being. Attendees will discover how CIS set clear objectives, collected baseline data, and designed flexible faculty training to support this shift. Presenters will also explore how ongoing input from students, parents, and faculty shaped the initiative, and how policies and infrastructure were continuously adapted to meet evolving needs. Highlights:
Grassroots Innovation – All data projects are initiated by teachers or requested by students. No top-down mandates. Every project is uniquely tailored to the needs of a particular class, cohort, or individual learner. Autonomy and responsiveness are built into the process.
Whole-Child, Whole-System Approach – We go beyond grades. Data is gathered on student well-being, social-emotional development, friendships, attitudes, and skills in all areas. Academic and emotional growth are viewed as interconnected and equally important.

Data with Purpose: Building a 360° View of Student Development
This insightful session will demonstrate how Toddle's integrated analytics ecosystem transforms scattered educational data into meaningful student success stories. We'll explore how our platform connects the dots between academic performance, engagement, well-being, and behavior to create a comprehensive picture of each student's journey.

From Isolation to Collaboration: Sharing Student Data for Collective Growth
As our learning community evolves, so must our approach to student data. In the past, individual teachers managed their own data, but with a shared student model on the horizon, collaboration is key. In this session, we’ll share what we’ve tried in Guided Reading, math, and writing—how we collect, record, and refine data to make it more accessible and useful for all teachers, and how we use that data to inform teaching practices that meet all students where they are. We’ll highlight changes we’ve made, discuss what’s working, and reflect on the challenges we’ve faced. The goal is to build confidence in trying new approaches, knowing that adjustments and mistakes are part of the process.
