Communication

Podcast

I started a longform podcast in 2021 showcasing a diverse range of entrepreneurs and intentional communities. There are 17 episodes to date.

Leadership

Community is important to me. It has informed most of my choices. I’ve benefited from leadership shown to me at challenging times in my life and I’m committed to learning and stepping in to that role as much as I’m able both professionally and personally.

Co-Working Space

I currently run a co-working space in my home town which provides opportunities for many different types of people to create, learn, collaborate, and be included.

Mentoring and Collaboration

Why I choose to work on things is just as important to me as the work itself. I want to make a contribution to solving the pressing issues of our time. That contribution is amplified when I work with a larger number of people and a diverse group of people.
I mentor young adults interested in coding and currently employ someone through my Co-Creations company who I’ve mentored for 5 years from his teenage years
I provide co-working spaces for a diverse group of people. It has enriched my life and many unexpected opportunities have arisen from collaborative thinking and strategising.
I have always sought out a variety of roles throughout my career. While I love the challenges and freedom of running my own company, I value the impact that I can have in larger organisations and the opportunities to further develop skills in a range of areas both interpersonal and digital skills.

My Motivation

In many ways my career path has been typical. I have been a software developer for 20 years and progressed through the ranks to periodically take on complex projects in leadership roles.
At the same time, I have taken an unconventional path in creating my own company, and that has allowed me to create a life that I am proud of and that contributes beneficially to my family and to my community.
I am at a stage of my life now where I wish to make a larger contribution.
The impact of my work from within my own company will always be limited, and I have experienced how significant my impact can be when I am part of a larger organisation.
Working with the United Nations has been a dream of mine since my early twenties.
I am ready to act on that dream, and to play a larger role in contributing to global improvements, environmentally and socially.
As a father I am motivated to live in a way that reflects my values of universal freedom and equality, personal responsibility, and the daily pursuit of happiness.
I also want to live a life that is worthwhile and contributes to a better world for my children, and for all of our descendants.
