Intro to Digitizing - ArcGIS Pro - Jan. 27th, 2026

The main premise of this lab was to become familiar with ArcPro’s software in digitizing boundaries based on aerials. As shown in Fig. 1, this depicts aerial features like buildings, roads and ponds. One of the main benefits of creating a map like this is the simplification of the deliverable for the end user. By clearly outlining the main network for the area, it provides a basis for future development. In addition, Fig. 2 provided groundwork for the familiarization of ArcPro’s feature line tools. Some of the beneficial outcomes resulting from this was developing the understanding how to modify and add to existing parcel drawings. This is an important aspect to grasp because, when future development occurs, it’s important to understand how to update existing drawings for progress reports to future clients. To further emphasize, both figures are used to show areas of interest in a clean format that just depicts the essential information.
