Overview
The premise was to get accustom with the ArcGIS Earth software. Understanding the tools will provide a useful program for advanced mission planning. Unfortunately, at the time that I conducted this lab, I wasn’t able to log into the University License, I was only able to read about most of the tools. The ones that we did cover were Distance Measurements, Elevation Profiles, Line of Sight, and Viewshed. Tools like these give a great basis for things like mission control centers, flight paths, and potential obstacles. This is one of the exciting things that I’m hoping to leverage through this software in the future because this will be a very cool resource to implement into my mission planning. Another feature that this software has is the ability to change the basemap type to like topography, types of terrain, basic roads, etc. This can be a helpful tool when trying to highlight specific features.
