1) Dan Oleson (Apprenticeship Program Lead, Bow Valley college )
Dan Olesen is an educator, community builder, and a Lead in Apprenticeship Style Programs, living and working in Calgary, Alberta. Dan is driven to build connections and transform relationships that level up success for people, business, and community. Sharing his experience, lessons of industry, and current market needs with career seekers and their supports; Dan motivates career discovery through passion fueled workshops and public speaking events. A client focused reputation helps connect career seekers to employers with a higher fit-for-purpose. Bringing more than 20 years of direct experience promoting the honour of apprenticeship training and style of learning. Dan is working for people by showing them how values, human skills, goals and other foundational skills work together to engage employers and emerging talent towards shared vision and ambitions for their future. The future of work depends on how we level up the connections between the traditional “tasks and responsibilities” with the priorities to a desirable quality of life. A balanced communication for community sustainability and business certainty, must start early in career education development with values before skill, and mission before position.

2) (Cheif Operating Officer of Center for New comer )
Mohamad Awada serves as the Regional Affairs Advisor for Prairies and North with the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities. Prior to this, he was the West and North advisor for the office of the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
Notably, Mohamad dedicated several years to the Centre for Newcomers in Calgary, an organization that helps newcomers integrate into Alberta and creates a welcoming environment in Calgary. His roles there included serving as the cultural community associate, the volunteer lead refugee innovation project coordinator, and the digital messaging manager for refugees and newcomers.
Since his move to Calgary in 2013, Mohamad has actively volunteered and advocated for numerous community causes, including children's services, supporting women in need, assisting vulnerable refugee and newcomer populations, addressing mental health issues, handling trauma, and managing various crises.
Mohamad is the co-chair for the Alberta Anti-Racism Council, a board member of the Mid-Eastern-European Diversity Council collaborating with the Calgary police, a board member with the Arabic Theatre in Calgary, and an advisor with the Arab Cultural Arts Society.
Recognition of his contributions is widespread. Mohamad received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award for his volunteer work and contributions to the Newcomers community in Alberta. Moreover, his efforts in Lebanon's refugee camps were acknowledged by the Amel Association, and he received an honorary certificate from the Calgary Cultural Arab Festival for his contributions to the Muslim and Lebanese community.
In terms of education, Mohamad holds a bachelor's degree in visual communication in graphic design and a bachelor's degree in general business from the Lebanese International University. His qualifications also include an immigration practitioner diploma from Bow Valley College. His dedication and diverse experiences make him a notable figure in the community

My past professional work and my current volunteer experience made me come across with people from more than 80 different nationalities the synergy and dynamics of it all is simply mind boggling, given the gift of working with an amazing group of people who are equally passionate in their own ways about taking a journey through life where we keep our eyes, ears, minds open and wonder at the experience of it all.
From youth to seniors, from newcomers to Canada to the nation’s First Peoples and an array of community non-profits in-between, Francis brings the same dedication and commitment to supporting initiatives which build a stronger Calgary.
As youve already nade a deceision to immigrate, take this withba oinchbof salt that, notings gling to be served on a platter. Best advice to new commers is to invest your precious time upgrading your skills, volunteer and network. On an average it takes 5 years of your time to get to where you are.

4) Pooja Dharan Bhat (Partnerships Specialist, Helcim )
Pooja is a seasoned marketer with over 15 years of global experience having worked in South Asia, the Middle East and now in Canada. In her current role as Partnerships Specialist at Calgary’s home-grown FinTech company Helcim, Pooja leads strategy and execution to boost merchant signups through Partnerships channel. Prior to her move to Canada in 2021, Pooja served as the Global Affiliate Partnerships Lead at Qatar Airways, where she drove double digit growth of her portfolio for the duration of her tenure. She began her career with the CitiGroup in India, managed her family’s successful travel business and handled branding and Go To Market initiatives for India’s then biggest retail organization. A lifelong learner, Pooja has successfully made the switch from conventional marketing and branding functions to data-driven digital roles. A people person, Pooja has strived to drive value for her company and partners alike, aiming for mutual growth. Academically, Pooja holds an MBA from SP Jain School of Management in Singapore and Dubai.
