Introducing: BrilliantBot (TM)

We are very proud of our BrilliantBot robot design. We incorporated a modular design for attachments, as well as extremely flexible and efficient standardized attachment processes that work across all of the missions.

FAQ

How did you divide up responsibilities on your team?

We have a few roles in the team:
Builders (Alex, Jackson)
Software Developers (Theodore)
Mission Designers (Theodore, Gustav)
Graphic Designer (Gustav)
Project Managers (Emma)
Project Coach (Phil)

How did you plan your routes?

We split the missions into geographically coherent sets, each of which can be accomplished with the same 2 pieces of attachments.

What did you code with?

We primarily used the Lego SPIKE software, using Word Blocks.

How did you do the sorting center task?

We designed a parametric set of modules that accepts location of the “blueslot” and “greenslot”. The modules direct the robot to different locations of the sorting center to pickup the appropriate crates.

How did you decide to allocate the containers into different spots?

We try to balance the need to maximize points, the complexity of navigating to specific drop zones, and the total time of the robot game.
