REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience
▪ Bachelor’s degree required with an MBA preferred.
▪ Ten or more years of progressive management experience, with at least five years in a significant executive leadership role, preferably in an import/ distribution company.
▪ Deep familiarity with international trade, ocean freight, customs/import, ports and associated rules and regulations.
▪ Well-honed negotiation and deal making skills; well-founded understanding of when and how to discuss terms with producers, suppliers and customers.
▪ Ability to understand trends in market, customer and competitor dynamics to identify potential problems and assess emerging opportunities.
▪ Strong operational leadership capacity with experience utilizing effective measurements, processes and structure to achieve improvements.
▪ Excellent leadership and management skills: Communicate key priorities, effectively delegates responsibility and monitors employees’ ability to move forward with company goals; challenges employees to maximize their potential and take on challenging assignments.
▪ Familiarity with SAP a plus.
▪ Experience in managing relationships in East Asia is valuable, but not necessary.
