Welcome! This template helps you manage projects, milestones, and tasks in one place. Follow this guide to get started.
Quick Start (Recommended Order)
Start with Projects → then Milestones → then Tasks
This order matters because Tasks link to Milestones, and Milestones link to Projects.
Step 1: Add Your Projects
Go to Q3 Projects & Milestones → Projects table
Projects are your high-level initiatives. For each project, add:
Name – A clear, descriptive title
Description – What this project aims to achieve
Status – Not Started, In Progress, On Hold, Completed, or Cancelled
Team – Assign team members
One pager – Link to a detailed project brief (optional)
Step 2: Define Milestones
Go to Q3 Projects & Milestones → Milestones table
Milestones are key deliverables or checkpoints within a project. For each milestone, add:
Milestone – Name of the deliverable
Description – What it includes
Delivery date – Target completion date
Milestone type – General Announcement, Beta, or Internal Milestone
Status – Not Started, In Progress, or Delivered
Project – Link to the parent project
Step 3: Create Tasks
Go to Task Tracker → All tasks
Tasks are the individual work items. For each task, add:
Name – What needs to be done
Priority – P0 (critical) through P3 (low)
DRI – The directly responsible individual
Status – Not started, In progress, Done, etc.
Milestone – Link to the relevant milestone (Project auto-fills)
Start date / Completed on – Track timing
Helpful Views
The Task Tracker section has several pre-built views to help you manage work:
My tasks – See only tasks assigned to you, with quick stats
Tasks by person – Group tasks by team member
Tasks by projects – See tasks organized under each project
Tasks without projects/milestones – Find orphaned tasks that need linking
Unassigned tasks – Find tasks that need an owner
All tasks – The master list of every task
Tips for Success
Link everything! Always connect Tasks to Milestones and Milestones to Projects. This powers the filtered views and makes tracking progress much easier.
Keep the PRDs section for detailed planning documents. The existing PRD template shows success metrics and suggested tasks – great for feature specs!
