Six thinking hats

The Blue Hat

This is usually the hat that only the facilitator of the reflection wears. The facilitator is in fact driven by a form of obligation to achieve results. In the time available, he/she must make the reflection effective.
He/she must ensure that it has served a purpose. An unsatisfactory concrete situation must lead to something better, a solution. It is not the facilitator who thinks of solutions but the group, of which the facilitator can be a part.
In order to fulfill his/her obligation to achieve results, the facilitator needs to have authority over the process.
