Enthousiasmos (ἐνθουσιασμός) is an ancient Greek word meaning “to be inspired or possessed by the divine.” It comes from en (in) + theos (god) and originally described a state in which the individual was inhabited by a higher spirit, moved by a creative force beyond the ego.
In the context of leadership, Enthousiasmos is not about ecstatic frenzy or motivational hype. It is about leading from within, from a source of clarity, inspiration, and ethical alignment that transcends personal ambition.
