Writing Day 19

Just say “Hi”.

I’ve gotten into the habit of saying “Hello” whether I know them or not. And let me tell ya, it puts me in a great mood and strengthens the relationships and makes me a memorable person.

For example:

I'm in 11th grade now, but I still see my 9th grade English teacher around school. Whenever I spot her, I make sure to say "Hi Mrs. Watanabe" and ask her “How she is doing?”.

Why do I do that?

It’s just who I am.

So today, as I was applying for the English National Honor Society at my school, the application asked me to get a recommendation form my previous English teacher.

So what did I do?

I sent her an email, here’s the email:

Subject: Am I the 17th one?

Hey Mrs. Watanabe,

I don't want to waste your time, so, I’ll cut to the chase…

Can you please make a recommendation for me to the Nation English Honor Society.

why?

To be honest I never liked to read or write before.

But I don't know what changed, because I've been reading a lot of books and articles form successful individuals trying to pick their brain. This ignited my passion for writing and sharing my learnings into newsletters, which I share daily with a friend to keep myself accountable.

Joining this society, I aim to hone my skills.

I'd love for you to make a quick recommendation and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

Thankyou for the consideration, Mrs. Watanabe.

Ayush Patil

Getting a recommendation will be extremely easy, because I made my self extremely memorable by greeting her every time I see her, this small juster will have made all the difference.

So here’s the key take away: performing little gesture like saying "Hello" over time can end up helping you out. So start subconsciously greeting everyone, you’ll never know what can happen.

Thank-you for tuning in to the 19th episode. I hope you found it valuable.
I appreciate you reading, listening, and sharing it with others.
