Welcome to Kinnectar Cabin ~Atlan Community Hostel

We Cooperate together in a Culture of Contribution
If you are here, it is because you are being hosted by a member of our community who has explained the community culture and systems to you.
Monetary Contribution:
The cost to stay is $15 per night unless you are an Atlan Kin Member which means you are a contributing participant in our community project. Email to find out more about becoming a Kin Member.
(Kin Members those working at Atlan or camping/staying in their own vehicle pay $10 per night.)
~Please stay current in using the wall chart to indicate the nights you have stayed
~Payment in cash or check form can be left in the box for each night
~Payment via Paypal must be marked next to your name on the sheet
~Those requesting larger time frames need to confirm with La or with your host
~Optional: payment can be made directly to our Paypal account (please indicate this on our wall chart next to your name)

In transparency, these contributions go toward household expenses:
~our lease payment, firewood and other utilities including wifi
~toilet paper, dish and laundry soap, and other details
~trash, recycling and general maintenance of the cabin

Energetic Contributions
Daily Chore List
~Wash Dishes and put them away
~Empty full compost container into buckets outside the door
~Sweep kitchen
~Wipe down counters
~Make sure your perishables in refrigerator are marked with your name or re~designated for community use before you leave by putting a gold star on your items
~Sweep and vacuum downstairs if you are using common areas
~Sweep and vacuum upstairs where you are sleeping
~Make sure your bin of clothing and other personal items are neatly stowed

Weekly Chore List
~Clean toilet and shower,
~Sweep and mop bathroom
~Clean counter and empty wastebasket
~Wash all towels
~Take out trash/recycling when full and replace bag
~Take Compost Buckets to Garden

Monthly Chore List
~Garbage and Recycling to BZ Corner
~Thorough cleaning of refrigerator,
~When firewood is low, sweep and clean area, & restock firewood
~Split firewood
~Clean out the wood stove
~Sweep porches and deck

Bathroom Care
~Door is kept open unless bathroom is in use (lets in heat from fire)
~Be considerate of others when using bathroom for extended time especially during high volume of people staying at Kinnectar
~Always use the fan during and after shower, set to minimum 10 min.
~Please dry your feet with your towel before walking on bathroom mats
~Wipe sink area after use
~Only use the hook by the shower for your towel while showering
~Use your towel more than once before putting in the hamper by the washer

Use of Linens
~If you have your own bedding and towel, please use it.
~If you need to use our bedding, please make sure to use a full set of sheets and pillow case. After use, please strip the bed and put the sheets in the hamper by the washer. *It is appreciated if you can wash, dry, and fold linens and towels and leave stacked on the dryer (or put away).

Laundry
If you do your own laundry, it costs $1/load to wash and $1/load to dry….
Put money in jar on top of dryer or add to your check or paypal payment
Please conserve energy by waiting till you have a complete load or sharing laundry loads
Add in kitchen towels
Use outdoor line for drying during warm season

Food Co-op
Kinnectar Food Coop has bulk foods that you are welcome to purchase. The Food Coop has a binder with instructions for use including creating accounts and where to find the scale for weighing purchases.
If you find yourself regularly using teas, oils and other condiments that live on the counter near the stove, there is a jar for contributing to the house resources or you can add to your check or paypal payment. Please contribute to this shared fund!

Other Notes
While we are still tending to a mouse problem please keep all food in sealed containers. (coolers and totes work well for this)
