Werribee Gorge State Park

The Circuit Walk

The Werribee Gorge has several hiking tracks, with this 10km one being the most favourite one on . (its shown as 7.6km on the site but is actually 10km)
Just an hour drive away from the CBD, the Werribee State Park valleys off the highway towards Ballarat. It is also close to and .
The Circuit Walk is one Victoria’s most popular hikes despite it being a medium/hard classification (grade 3) as it offers a breadth of experiences in terms of sights, ascent and descent, rock formations, river track and a portion of walking next to the edge of the cliff with a rope of chains.
Expect kangaroos, koalas, wallabies and echidnas and more on the flora
The hike is a major milestone for any hiker in the region and offers a good workout for both beginners and more seasoned hikers.
Note: The signboards at the park show 10km while other sites like wikiloc and alltrails show under 8km. Nevertheless, due to the nature of the terrain, it takes on average between 2 to 3 hours to complete.
