Sophia Hepheastou and I now have a contact at the governor’s office & will serve as liaisons between our volunteer group and the governor’s office. This has already been helpful; we encourage you to reach out to us with pressing issues so we can continue to pass them along.

Sophia circulated an initial spreadsheet where volunteers who participated provided a list of claimants with outstanding March claims. Our contact at Governor Cuomo’s office directly provided these clients’ name and a brief description of their situations to the DOL to “expedite” these claims and address issues with applications for DOL review. Clients on our initial list have already reported quick and favorable results. Any volunteer who still has clients with outstanding March claims may contact myself or Sophia with their names and a brief description of the issue and what work has been done / the status of the claim and we can pass them along as well.
*Since it is now July, we will likely follow up with a similar list for outstanding April claims!*

Clients on our initial list have already reported VERY quick and favorable results, hearing from the DOL within the same day or week of us passing along the information.
