Operation ASREC

Objectives

The objective of these training flights is to get students comfortable with flying the Believer drone and most importantly, fixed wing drones. during these operations we will be practicing all the different roles within the operation and also practice flight planning, takeoffs and landings with a smaller fixed wing drone to prepare for the Ultra.

Roles and Responsibilities

PIC, VO, Instructor, GCS Operator, etc.

Operational Area

40.49568° N, 86.99624° W is the coordinates to the flight training area. There are not bathrooms available nearby. There are power lines that run nearby the site. When you arrive near the area you look for a farmhouse to the right side of the road and turn in there, follow the gravel road back until it crosses the ditch, in that crossing you can attempt to park.

Checklists

Include a copy of the Believer checklist. Build a pre-departure and a return checklist (not included in the Believer checklist).

Operation Guide

Expand the checklist headings into a detailed explanation. Detail the preflight box. Think of this as the advisory circular to your regulations.

Risk Assessment

There are power lines nearby the site. There is a farmhouse 800m from the operation area. Also small sheds throughout the field 400m in the opposite direction of the farmhouse. Manned aircraft fly nearby sometimes. The final risk is a ditch next to one of the possible landing strips.

Emergency and Contingency Procedures

In case of a loss of connection the drone will return to land after a few seconds. In case of a crash, we will report the crash to ground control and document everything that occurred to cause the crash. In case of injury or property damage we will contact the local authorities.

Compliance and Approvals

Here, you may wish to add a copy of your Part 107 credentials and currency documents. Include a copy of the waiver and highlight important points from the waiver. See resources for waiver information.
