Twerton Village Hall
Twerton Village Hall a victorian building, originally built to serve the cloth mill workers was given to the people of Twerton by the Carr Family many years ago. It is a central community space in Twerton and is currently run by volunteers. It is funded by hall hire and community fundraising.
Through the years it has housed many community groups and we work to ensure the hall remains open and for local people to use.
It has been a tough year as we have been shut for over half of it. Usually a vibrant place for people to get together it has a full weekly schedule of exercising, dancing, playing, crafting, singing, photographing, praying and dog training. It is also hired for charity meetings, training sessions and celebrations as well as used for fundraising events like fairs and bingo nights.
The Trustees have taken the current closures as a chance to look to the future of the hall with positive plans and ongoing projects like the car park and garden, a new hall floor and decorating.
The hall feels quiet at the moment but it is well and truly loved by the volunteers that have worked hard to give it a stable future. When we re-open we want the hall to remain in the centre of the community, a much needed addition to this area of Bath.
We are looking forward to opening safely and welcoming our amazing community back.
