Based on Charles Duhigg's Power of Habit, this template lets you define your goals (Routine) and press a button to say you did it (Trigger) to reap the satisfaction (Reward).

I am a big fan of The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. According to Duhigg, in order to create any habit, you need a Routine, Trigger and Reward in order to build powerful habits for which in the end it will be easier for you to do them than not to do them. I have always looked for a good tool that would allow me to properly track my habits and motivate me to continue. It should be easy, lightweight and fun. Unfortunately I never found that tool. So I decided to build it myself.

You can do the following with this template:

  • My Goals - This is the “Routine” where you define what the goal is, the frequency you would like to accomplish the goal every week, and the date you committed to this goal
  • My Routine - Every day, you can hit the “I Did It” button (e.g. “Trigger”) and see your the streaks of how you’ve achieved your goals by weekday, goal, and week (the “Reward”)
  • My Log - See the full log of all your daily accomplishments

The template also keeps track of your daily streaks and you can see how you’ve achieved your goals by weekday, goal, and week in the “My Routine” section.
