Our Content Policies apply to all content associated with your presence on Coda, which includes (but may not be limited to) your Packs, published docs, publicly shared docs, embedded content within your published and publicly shared docs, header images and other images, username, bio and maker profile.

Follow the Law

You are responsible for your use of the Services and for any Content you provide, including compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
We reserve the right to remove Content and/or take action against Accounts that violate the , including copyright or trademark violations or other intellectual property misappropriation, impersonation, unlawful conduct, or harassment.
Coda maintains a zero tolerance policy for the following types of Content:
Child sexual exploitation
Posting or threatening to post intimate images of others
Human Trafficking or Illegal Prostitution
Animal abuse and cruelty
Buying & Selling regulated goods, including firearms, alcohol and tobacco products between private individuals, and buying or selling illegal or prescription drugs (even if legal in your region)
Facilitation of gambling or betting
Fraud or Phishing
Coda may cooperate with law enforcement, including cases when we believe there's risk of threat to public safety.

Respect Copyright and Trademarks

You are responsible for your use of the Services and for any Content you provide, including compliance with copyright and trademarks, as well as the Copyright provisions in If you aren't allowed to use someone else's copyrighted or trademarked work, don't include it in your published or publicly shared docs. By publishing and sharing with Coda, you represent that you have the rights to post all such Content. You also represent that you understand and assume all risks related to publishing and sharing with Coda, including potential for others' reliance on the accuracy of your post, or claims relating to intellectual property, copyright, trademark or other legal rights.
You are welcome to publish content on Coda that you've previously published elsewhere, provided you have the rights you need to publish on Coda.

Maintain Public Docs that are Appropriate for Diverse Audiences

Publishing and sharing on Coda is intended to help Makers of diverse backgrounds share their ideas in rich, engaging and innovative ways. To maintain a safe environment for sharing ideas across varied points-of-view and backgrounds, we prohibit certain kinds of content.
Failure to comply with , Content Policies, Community Guidelines or applicable laws and legal standards may result in content removal and/or account termination.
Exploitation of Minors. Do not promote the sexual or violent exploitation of minors ー real or fictional, living or deceased.
Terrorism or Hate Groups. Do not praise, glorify, encourage or promote acts of terrorism. This includes terrorist organizations and hate groups, their leaders or associated actions.
Harassment, Bullying & Hate Speech. Do not promote violence or hatred against others. This includes content that promotes discrimination, violence or intolerance on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sexual orientation, gender or gender identity. Hateful text, images, symbols or other such content is not permitted in your username, profile, bio or docs.
Suicide & Self Injury. Do not encourage, promote or glorify acts of self-harm, self-injury, eating disorders or suicide. If you encounter users who are contemplating or threatening self-harm or suicide, or you yourself are experiencing suicidal thoughts, please call or visit for free, confidential support.
Privacy Violations. Do not violate the privacy of others. This includes (but is not limited to) sharing private communications without explicit consent of all parties to the communication, posting intimate images of others, and exposing sensitive private data such as credit card numbers, social security numbers or other non-public information. Do not use a published doc to collect, store or aggregate private financial information such as credit cards or bank account numbers. In compliance with the European GDPR, embedding content that collects data from others (including email address or other Personally Identifying Information) may be restricted.
Graphic Content & Violence. Do not post gratuitously graphic or violent content. Do not post threatening content. We understand accurate coverage of certain newsworthy events may require some depictions of violence, and will evaluate newsworthiness and other criteria as needed for such cases..
Pornography and Adult Content. Do not post or embed pornography or any other adult content.
Misinformation. Do not post potentially harmful or intentionally deceptive misinformation
Spam & Duplicate Content. Do not post spam or duplicate content with the intent of saturation.
Ads & Arbitrage. Do not publish docs that serve as link farms, advertising arbitrage or other monetization schemes. Disclose any affiliate relationships or sponsored content.
Fraud & Scams. Don't publish fraudulent information or links, including links with misleading descriptions.
