As seen in this example, a project introduced biogas in Uganda. Farmers used the gas for cooking, which not only improved air quality, but also increased crop production, as the leftovers from the biogas digesters were used as soil fertilizers.
As seen in this example, biogas could also help reduce time spent collecting firewood, which often adds to women's work burdens.
