Short Form Editor Project Details

info-squared
This is a guide that covers details of the project. This includes process and my preferred way of working so you can have a better understanding before agreeing to work with me.
I’m flexible regarding working through Upwork or working outside of Upwork. Upwork is sensitive about talking about this in our Upwork chat, but you can send me an email at if you would prefer to work outside of Upwork.
^I believe that Upwork takes 15% of your pay, which is why I like to offer working outside of Upwork. However, the downside is that the work we do will not be accounted for within Upwork so I won’t be able to share reviews.
Please reach out with any questions

🎉 Congratulations! I’d like to offer you work.

Project Overview
👋 Hi, my name is Brian McCreadie, a marketer with 10 years of experience making performance ads and managing them in platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok.
AI is changing my industry very rapidly with new advanced tools, and it’s threatening jobs. Lots of my friends in the US who are very talented are being laid off and having trouble finding work...
Old skills will continue to become devalued as AI continues to develop, and I would like to help performance marketers future proof their careers by learning how to use AI tools through tutorials, trainings & a community of marketers who share ideas and work together.
I have spent the last 6 months training myself & developing resources, and now it’s time for me to start sharing my stuff with others! This is where short form videos come into play. I would like to consistently post my short form videos as a way to share skills with fellow performance marketers.
Each of the videos will drive people to more in-depth resources, and those in-depth resources will eventually drive people to next steps like joining a community or enrolling in a course.

Scope

This project is focused on editing short-form videos, typically between 20 to 60 seconds in length. I’m aiming for 5 edited videos per week, aligned with a Monday to Friday posting schedule.
Working hours are flexible — you don’t need to be online at specific times.
However, videos should be ready for weekday posting (Mon–Fri).
My goal is to send over all videos for the week all at once so you can work on the videos at your convenience.
I’m highly available and often work weekends, so feel free to message me anytime with questions, drafts, or feedback requests.
Would like to initially commit to this schedule for one month, after which we can discuss continuing the partnership.
Payment
Payment is set at $25 USD per video, regardless of video length (as long as it's within the 20–60 second range). The monthly goal is 20 videos, which brings the total monthly pay to $500 USD.
Payment is structured like a retainer, not per-delivery.
I’m flexible on payment frequency — you can choose either bi-weekly or monthly payouts.
I recommend using Wise for international payments, but I’m open to whatever method works best for you.
Preferred: I'd prefer to work outside of Upwork to avoid fees and streamline communication, but I’m totally fine working through Upwork if that’s your preference.
If the number of videos delivered goes under or over the monthly plan, we’ll simply carry the balance forward and adjust in the next month’s payment.

Tools & Process
We’ll be using a simple setup that keeps everything organized and easy to manage.
CapCut is the preferred editing software — it’s fast, intuitive, and ideal for short-form video work.
All raw assets will be uploaded to Frame.io, and final edited videos will be delivered back to me there as well.
You’re approved to use my personal music library (access will be provided), and also CapCut’s built-in music and sound effects if they fit the edit.
The goal is to keep revisions to a minimum due to the high volume of videos. I’ll likely give more hands-on feedback at the beginning, then ease off once we’re in a good flow.
We’ll stick to the style we established during the sample project so we stay consistent and efficient.
Preferred communication is via WhatsApp. You can message me casually there and I’ll be very responsive. If you prefer another platform, I’m open to that too.
Work Style
My goal is to keep this working relationship collaborative, flexible, and easygoing.
I’m very open to feedback and suggestions — if you have ideas on how to improve the edits or try something different, feel free to share them. I’m always open to experimenting.
If something comes up, like vacation or sick days, that’s totally fine. Just give me a heads-up so I can plan accordingly.
The only thing I ask is that you don’t go silent. If there’s ever a delay or issue, just shoot me a message. I’d always rather know what’s going on than be left guessing.
Career Development
I see this as more than just a freelance gig — I’m happy to support you in growing your skills and career.
You’re free to use any work you create here in your portfolio.
You’re welcome to list me as a reference for future opportunities.
If you ever want feedback on your portfolio, help building a portfolio website, or advice on direction, I’m more than happy to collaborate on that.
I want this to be a win on both sides — a chance to do great work while helping you level up your creative career.
