Webflow Affiliate –– Twitter Thread Copy

The big point of feedback would be to update how the affiliate program tracks and attributes sales to original creators when it comes to cloneables/templates/resources. The commission (%), payout length, and other benefits seem less of a pain point among creators –– The way sales are attributed seems to be the common thread among creators.
Coppied over thread from twitter 👇

Regarding Framers program for remixes:
The tracking begins right when a template is duplicated.
It can override default attribution models to ensure payment for the specific project.
Tracks regardless of cookie settings or browser restrictions.
The original creator takes a commission if the end-user converts the template/remix to a paid site plan. Simple - right? Tracking for remixes is set up to override default attribution models to ensure payment for the specific project and tracks regardless of cookie settings or browser restrictions.
Sounds very obvious. Webflow's next, Keep going 👇

Regarding Webflows program for creators:
The tracking doesn't begin at site duplication. The end-user needs to also click ANOTHER link to initiate tracking.
Plus, suppose a user clicks someone else's tracking link before upgrading. In that case, the original creator loses out on that commission even though they were the one who created that specific project/template that's being used on the site plan.
You only get commissions if the end-user is a new webflow customer. Even if you provide enough value for an end-user to upgrade to a paid plan, you're not receiving a commission if they've already been using webflow.
The program is a traditional affiliate program; if users clone a template, they must also click the creator's tracking link when they're ready to upgrade a site plan. And if the end-user clicks someone else's tracking link before upgrading, the original creator loses out on that commission even though they were the ones who created the template that's being used on the site plan. They also only give commissions if the end-user is a new webflow customer.

With Webflows program, even if you provide enough value for an end user to upgrade to a paid plan, you're not receiving a commission if they've already been using webflow.
Here's how a modern program would benefit creators 👇
---
If webflow engineers their program like Framers for their creators, once a user clones a framework:
1. The tracking for that specific project is attributed to the original creator right on duplication
2. If the end-user upgrades a site plan on that project, the original creator gets rewarded –– no archaic affiliate system.
3. Regardless if the end-user is new to webflow, the sale gets attributed to the original creator.
It sounds very obvious – simply reward the original creator for creating value for end-users without needing to get lucky with archaic affiliate tracking systems.
