About the Job:

We are a fun-loving family in Sherman Oaks seeking a part-time, summer caregiver for our 11 year old daughter who has disabilities. Our daughter is non-verbal and cannot walk on her own. We prefer caregivers with some work experience supporting disabled individuals. Our daughter is very social, she’s a huge Swiftie and she loves shopping and eating at restaurants. She enjoys swimming, dance parties, and cuddling with her bazillion stuffed animals and fuzzy blankets. The right person will be someone she can have fun hanging out with, who she trusts to care for her needs, and who treats her with respect.

This is a great job for a nursing, PT, OT or SLP student. Also great for healthcare and education professionals looking for a flexible, well paying side job that helps you build valuable skills.

What the Role Involves:

Supporting 11 year old girl with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, meals)

Taking her on outings, local activities, and fun summer adventures

Swimming in our pool

Being creative and silly at home, having fun!

Providing companionship and supervision

Using some medical equipment like a stander and gait trainer

We provide training and support so our caregivers are set up for success

Our caregiver’s ideal personality:

You are responsible, reliable, and pay close attention to details … and… you are comfortable being silly, affectionate, and relaxed. You are outgoing and assertive because you may need to advocate for our daughter when interacting with others. You are a great communicator and can tell us what went well/not well when recapping your day. Last, you are curious and inclined to ask questions when you are unsure about something.

Schedule:

June-August: Monday–Friday, 4 to 6 hours per day (we are flexible which hours and days).

Start Date: Training to start within the next 2 weeks

Open to a live-in caregiver arrangement but not required

Requirements:

English fluency

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Personal car, valid driver’s license, clean driving record

Reliable communication and advance notice when unavailable

Pay:

$35/hour

We pay on the books
