We're working as a semi-centralized organization with a Core Team, backed up by an extended

What is the Talent Protocol community membership?

The community membership is reserved for people who want to help grow Talent Protocol. When we say “community” we mean Talent Protocol registered users that not only want to use the platform, but also want to help build and improve it.
There are different levels of commitment within the community. When members contribute to the network, they level-up to unlock perks, gain access to new channels, and get special privileges at each level.

Community are attributed and validated via standard ERC-1155 NFTs. This NFT badges will need to be renewed every to make sure all members are active and engaged.
is a place mostly for community members (level 2 and up). There is an announcements channel visible to everyone, but most of the server is for members only. For people that just want to follow Talent Protocol from an investor’s perspective, is the right channel to engage with the team.

Season 1 Explainer

TL;DR

For (November 2021 to Feb 2022) we built a simple tool where talent can launch a token and where supporters can back them.
We are looking for ambitious knowledge workers and digital builders to join as talent and crypto natives to join as supporters. Season 1 is for early believers and beta testers.
The main benefits for users this season are:
Access to a closed and safe environment to experiment with social tokens;
Earn a higher amount of in $TAL;
Talent accounts receive $200 worth of their own talent tokens when they launch;
Access to $TAL token at a discounted price.

Season 1

Goals

Get real feedback, from real users, using real money to support talent.
Build a community committed to the long-term success of the project.
Awareness as a web3 talent launchpad and a "web3 for good" brand.

Target

There's two types of users at Talent Protocol:
Talent is any user that has launched his token through the protocol. They are individuals with a growth mindset that are looking for support to achieve big goals.
Supporters are people looking to back a talent early on and become an active part of their journey. A talent can also simultaneously be a supporter.
In we are looking for ambitious knowledge workers and digital builders that believe web3 is the future to join as talent. This includes people like founders, engineers, designers, economists, product managers, community builders.
Artists, creators or other types of careers will only be included in future seasons, but are welcome to .

We're building a platform where users can launch tokens, buy tokens and earn rewards.
Supporters can browse talent profiles, send them DMs and buy talent tokens.
A talent can do everything a supporter can, and also has a personal profile and the ability to launch a talent token.

Season 1 is about staking, not trading or crowdfunding.

Talent Protocol is optimized for long-term relationships and strong network effects.
In Season 1 we wanted to create a safe environment for talent to launch their token (the platform is invite-only and the smart contracts were audited by Hacken).
The staking model is almost like a private sale, where everyone is able to buy talent tokens at the same fixed (and discounted) price. Buying at this stage acts more like vouching for a talent than investing.
The incentives to buy come from 1) the rewards in $TAL distributed by Talent Protocol and 2) the possibility of making a profit when the token price stops being fixed on future seasons.

Why Celo?

Launching Talent Tokens on Ethereum mainnet is unthinkable at this point, due to the extremely high gas fees (and environmental impact). That's why we were initially planning to launch Talent Protocol on Polygon (a L2 scaling solution for Ethereum), but we decided to launch first on Celo. Here's why 👇

What are Seasons?

Talent Protocol works in seasons.
A season is a defined period of time with a clear goal and theme. Example: the goal of Season 1 is creating a real but low-risk environment for beta testing.
This methodology allows us to improve the product faster, by doing structured experiments and iterations. Coming seasons will take into account the learnings from previous seasons. With each season we want to push the boundaries of social tokens, building on top of what is working and fixing what isn’t working.
A season can have multiple tracks, where each track addresses a specific niche/use case with specific features and a custom token model. Example: Season 2 can have a track for Founders, a track for Digital Artists, and a track sponsored by a partner organization.

What happened in Season 1?

In we built a platform where talented professionals could create a token for their careers and where supporters could invest in their careers, send DMs and unlock perks.
From Nov. 2021 until Feb. 2022 we launched +170 tokens, have a +10k user base and more than $220,000 invested in talent.
We’re slowly building a strong community on Discord and Twitter (+6,000 each) that is helping us build Talent Protocol everyday.
