Job Description

As a Qualified Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations at “The Caffeine Experience.” This includes creating and updating menus, supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety standards are met, and collaborating with management to achieve business goals. You will have the opportunity to train and mentor ex-offenders, helping them develop their culinary skills and build a foundation for a successful future.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and update food and beverage menus in line with customer preferences and seasonal availability
Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
Ensure food preparation, cooking, and serving processes meet hygiene and safety standards
Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage kitchen budget effectively
Collaborate with management to set and achieve business objectives and revenue targets
Provide guidance and support to ex-offenders in learning culinary skills and adjusting to the workplace environment
Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement
Stay informed about industry trends, new ingredients, and innovative cooking techniques
Assist in organizing and hosting culinary events, workshops, and training sessions for staff and customers

Daily Job Task List

Review menu items and ingredient availability
Coordinate kitchen staff schedules and duties
Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment and workspaces
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
Supervise food presentation and portion sizes
Conduct inventory checks and place orders as needed
Train and mentor ex-offenders in culinary skills and workplace etiquette
Communicate with management about kitchen operations and challenges
