Safeguard an Israeli Southern Community
The idealistic founders of Tene Omarim settled Israel’s South 37 years ago. The community now urgently needs security equipment, in light of the current war. Please see below for background information and partnership opportunities.

Location

Tene Omarim is located in a strategic security position. Serving as a barrier between the Hills of Hebron and the Negev desert, it sits atop a mountain ridge in Southern Israel.
The town is isolated, and the nearest medical center is at least 30 minutes away.

History

Tene is a vibrant and youthful community, home to 210 idealistic families who have chosen to strengthen Israel's periphery, despite the challenges of living in a remote area. The residents of Tene have a wide range of professions, including army commanders, teachers, software engineers, nurses and social workers. Many community members are also active volunteers, with a dedicated team of Magen David Adom Ambulance Drivers and Medics.

The Security Threat

Tene is essential to prevent the expansion of Palestinian cities and their claims to additional land. Its altitude overlooks the Negev plateau, which includes Be'er Sheva, and if Tene were to cease to exist, the plateau would be vulnerable to rocket attacks. Unfortunately, in the past three years, the community has faced terrorist infiltrations and arson attempts, posing significant threats to its security. During the current conflict with Gaza, the community endured a shooting incident.

First Response Unit

Tene's First Response Unit is a team of highly trained volunteers who protect our community against various threats, including terrorist infiltration. These brave citizens respond to terror incidents, conducting thorough searches and providing critical support until official authorities arrive. However, they need better equipment to enhance their safety while carrying out their crucial duties. Your generous contribution can make an immediate and significant impact by providing them with the essential equipment they require. Thank you for considering our cause.
