Edén/Kvifte/Nesheim Trio

(ENG) Mats and Tellef are both pioneers in the development of the contemporary folk scene I Norway and Sweden, and have been active since the 1970s. The Norwegian group Slinkombas where Tellef was a key member, and Swedish Groupa with Mats, were both important sources of inspiration for each other, and for the growing number of folk and traditional groups with fresh takes on playing and arranging traditional music. Both Mats and Tellef have large repertories of tunes learned from the old masters, and are also composers (as is also Knut) of new tunes, as well as active in a number of other genres. Always searching for new ways of playing and making music, the members of the trio bring with them experiences from many instruments, genres, and projects - as well as a number of more or less credible stories...

(SE) Mats och Tellef har båda varit drivande i utvecklingen av dagens samspelstraditioner både i svensk och i norsk folkmusik, ända sedan 70-talet. Från senare delen av 70-talet var norska Slinkombas och svenska Groupa pionjärer i sin genre och var på många sätt varandras inspirationskällor. Med bakgrund av att utforska och att lära sig låtar av äldre spelmän, i musikalisk praxis på flera instrument, ständigt på jakt efter utveckling både i och utanför folkmusikgenren har Mats och Tellef en stor erfarenhet att ta med in i trion – för att inte tala om ett stort lager av förunderliga historier, varar flera faktiskt är sanna! Att de först nu börjat spela tillsammans är lite konstigt men en fantastisk möjlighet. Med i gruppen har de Knut, en uppfinningsrik slagverkare med rötter i flera genrer, precis som de äldre medlemmarna i gruppen.
