Serif, developer of Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher, has today announced three measures aimed at helping students, photographers, designers, artists and other creatives affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Panopto Cloud, which can be used by executives, teachers and others to record and distribute video content, is letting new users have the service for free for three months and won’t cap the amount of material that can be captured and streamed.

The company is making its screen recording tool, TechSmith Snagit, and its collaboration platform, TechSmith Video Review free to use through the end of June.

Another software firm whose tools enable remote work, Threads is making its Pro offering, which can support up to 100 members, free through July 1.

As COVID-19 spread, Vidyard accelerated work on a service it was developing to help employees communicate with one another and to allow employers to share video messages with their workforces. Vidyard for Internal Communications has been made available at no cost through June 30.

Loom is scrapping a limit on the number of videos that a user can access under its free plan through July 1 (previously the limit was 25) and extending the free trial period of its premium Loom Pro service from 14 to 30 days. It’s also making Loom Pro free for students and teachers at K-12 schools, universities and other educational institutions with no time limit.

Zoom has removed a 40-minute meeting limit on its free Basic accounts for students and teachers at K-12 schools in America. The company has partnered with Clever, the most widely used single sign-on service used by U.S. school districts, so that schools who don’t have access to its service can get it quickly. It has also scrapped time limits on meetings for K-12 schools in a growing list of other countries impacted by COVID-19.

Google Cloud has announced free access to its advanced Hangouts Meet videoconferencing capabilities for all customers of its G-Suite and G-Suite for Education services. This enables calls of up to 250 people and also allows meetings to be recorded and saved on Google Drive.

Password management software provider 1Password is removing its 30-day free-trial limit on business accounts. Companies can now use 1Password at no cost for six months to manage login credentials.

Addigy is providing its device management platform for Apple devices free for 60 days to businesses, schools, and MSPs. The platform will allow organizations to remotely update security settings, software, and more.

Akamai will provide 60 days of free access to its Business Continuity Assistance Program, which includes it Enterprise Application Access solution.

AppGuard is offering its AppGuard Solo endpoint protection solution free of charge for the next 90 days to business that need to support more remote workers.

Cloudflare is offering small businesses free seats to its zero-trust application protection service through September 1.

Dialpad is giving any business in North America and Japan its cloud-based phone system, Dialpad Talk Pro, for free for the first two months of usage. The system comes with Dialpad’s videoconferencing tool.

GreatHorn is offering 60 days of free access to its GreatHorn Email Security threat detection and remediation platform to organizations facing disruptions due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Jostle is offering a remote work package that is free for 60 days. It includes News, a People Directory, Instant Messaging, Task Management and more.

Microsoft Teams, the company’s collaboration and communication platform, is scrapping the user limit on its free version, which was previously restricted to 300 people. Microsoft has also announced it is making the basic version of its Office 365 enterprise suite of productivity tools such as Word and Excel free for six months to organizations, which gives users access to the premium version of Microsoft Teams.

Minim will provide four months of its Minim for Remote Workers home security and managed WiFi platform for free to individuals and companies. Minim claims its platform will protect against router attacks, ransomware, network intrusions and other common malware.

Netsparker is providing free team licenses of its web vulnerability scanning tool to certain organizations including government entities, medical equipment providers, news producers, vaccine and medical research facilities, patient care organizations, hospitals, first responders, and food delivery.

To help websites cope with surgest in Traffic, NGINX is opening up their core training and making their content available at no cost, and offering one free year of NGINX Plus for those in the education, public government, and non‑profit sectors.

Okta will provide its Okta Identity Cloud service for free to new customers for six months, possibly longer if the situation warrants it. The service includes Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) and Okta Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for up to five applications.

Paycor's Payroll Relief Fund will offer free payroll to new customers for three months.

PC Matic is making its suite of enterprise endpoint protection and remote management tools available at no charge to Massachusetts-based companies implementing work-from-home policies. Those companies must have 10 or more remote workstations. The offer is valid through June 30, 2020, and includes onboarding and support services.

Ping Identity is offering six months of free cloud-based SSO and MFA to companies that must support newly remote employees. Existing customers can receive six months of free MFA.

PreVeil is offering its encrypted email and file-sharing solutions for free to critical infrastructure organizations on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. This includes federal, state and local governments and agencies; first reponders and crisis management teams, and healthcare non-profits.

RSA is offering its RSA SecurID Access product for multi-factor authentication to new customers free for six months. Existing customers can take advantage of RSA's Business Continuity Option to expand the number of users on RSA SecurID Access without increasing their budget.

The SANS Security Awareness division of the SANS Institute has created the Securely Working from Home deployment kit. The free kit packages public and paid training SANS resources and is designed to give security awareness staff a step-by-step guide on how to rapidly deploy a training program for remote staff.

SentinelOne is offering free access to its endpoint protection and endpoint detection and response platform through May 16, 2020. The company will also provide remote deployment assistance.

Cisco Webex has expanded its free offerings to include security services for remote employees through July 1, 2020.

Zoho will waive the cost of the applications being used by up to 20,000 companies for three months. Customers must apply for assistance. The company has also launched a new set of free applications to support remote working.

The company is making its service available for free to first responders and NGOs helping communities manage COVID-19 outbreaks. They will get organization-wide access for 90 days and the company says it could extend that term if circumstances warrant doing so.

LogMeIn, which offers the GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar services, has created special bundles of its products to support emergency remote working. It’s offering three-month site-wide licenses for free to organizations such as healthcare providers, educational institutions and municipalities.

The company has also removed the 250-user cap on its Standard Plan service for all nonprofits for three months.

Awake Security is offering 60 days of free access to its network traffic analysis platform to hospitals and healthcare organizations to help identify ransomware and other cyber threats from slowing the COVID-19 response.

Bitdefender is offering up to 12 months of free enterprise protection of devices for all healthcare organizations.

LuxSci is offering its secure email service for free for the next two months for companies that need to send HIPAA-compliant health/safety-related email. It will send up to 25,000 emails per month, and might extend the two-month window if the crisis continues.

TigerConnect will provide its secure healthcare communications platform free of charge to US-based health systems and hospitals to support COVID-19 related communications.

Dropbox Business, which enables people to work remotely, and HelloSign Enterprise, which manages electronic agreements, will be free for six months for nonprofits and NGOs involved in the battle against COVID-19.
