Seeking truth in paradoxes, beauty in the everyday, and connection in the unknown.

How do we empower creation and encourage discussion?
❓What is this?
I've always thought that the behavior that social media encourages of showing a very manicured version of real life is not only unhealthy for ourselves but also for society as a whole by setting up unrealistic expectations, especially for young teens in their most formative period of coming into adulthood. I recently came across the concept of a
and loved the idea of giving a more honest, in-depth window into your life. Something that's minimally filtered, comprehensive, and most importantly, authentic. This is my first version of something to that endーa live view of how and what I'm doing,
unfiltered
in the aggregate data,
comprehensive
in an overview of my life trajectory, and most of all, unabashedly my
. In that spirit, I’m revealing not only what I’m working on in say my unpublished writing (see below) but also my feeling and progress on habits in this data breakdown. I’m continually exploring new ways to push this principle, so I’d love to hear if you have ideas!
From pure darkness
Multicolored giants awaken
Dwarfs and superstars and everything in between
Whispering their existence into the listening void

Soldiers of Gaia
Marching compasses, furry north stars
Fighting steadily to advance life

Twilight Trek

Lake Tahoe
A twilight trek under the stars
An arranged meeting with the sun
A mecca to the top of the world where none is hidden
Where the sky and earth commune.
A Whisper

Lake Tahoe
Luscious warmth beckons the coming day
as sleeping giants rustle and stir.
A lightness, a whisper lingers in the air
The drippings of words left unspoken.

And so the fog settles as all those watch on.
Summer Forest

Lake Tahoe
Weaving through the firs with the gentle breeze,
Sunlight filtering through the flitting leaves,
Carefree laughs and inquisitive searches,
A summer of old, that’s one to remember.

Bonita Point
A team of sea kayakers venture out into the open ocean for an afternoon ride. Although they are a team and have to work together to ensure no one gets off course, they also express their unique individuality in their kayak colors.
Heaven Highway

Antarctica
Caught an adelie penguin highway leading up a mountain to the nesting area. Up and down, up and down, these penguins repeat a cycle to retrieve food for their young over and over, despite the long journey. It almost sweeps you up into a trance of following them.
A Break

Antarctica
A lone humpback breaks the surface of the water in the frigid waters of Antarctica. In the distance, icebergs fill the waterways, creating a minefield of hidden depths. We’re all part of a much larger system. This is one of my favorite photos I took on my trip ー makes me appreciate the beauty in everything we see in life while coming to grips with the fact that we are such a small part of the whole.
Stretching the Limits

South Orkney Islands
These gentoo penguins scaled to the upper ridges of these beach-side cliffs, which were at least 3 stories high, to lay their eggs to minimize the chances that melting snow washes them away even though it means they have to trudge up and down every time they collect food for their partner. Always impressed by the resilience and defiance of the little folks in nature.
A Still Moment

South Orkney Islands
A sole Gentoo penguin climbs the tip of an iceberg, resting before his next foray into the sea. I wanted to capture the stillness and pensive nature of the fog rolling in making this penguin seem like he’s in his own little world.
Feeding

St. Andrews Bay
A mom feeds her baby in front of a large, large colony. St. Andrew's Bay is home to one of the largest king penguin colonies in the world. At an overlook like this one, the ground opens up before you, and all you can see is white, black, brown, and yellow dotting the land as far as the eye can see, up to the stretches of mountains.
