The demand for energy and electricity in Sri Lanka is anticipated to continue to rise owing to the rapid expansion in the economy along with country’s GDP per capita rising to USD 3,835 in 2016 from USD 875 in 2000 while heading towards being an upper middle-income country in the near future.
